Chapter 53
The golden sunlight spread across the sky, and a gentle breeze carried the warmth of the sun, softly falling on the head of a girl who was diligently working at her desk. The sunlight made her face seem almost translucent, and even the tiny hairs her skin were clearly visible.
Her luscious hair also took on a warm hue, and her desk was covered with piles of homework and test papers.
The weather was perfect, and the breeze was gentle. It was just the right moment to move forward toward her dreams. Aurora was fully immersed in her study session when she received a call from Daxon.
After she accepted the call, a deep, rich voice came from the other end of the line. “It’s Daxon. Do you remember me?”
Aurora closed her book and held her phone up to her face, double–checking that the number really was Daxon’s. “I think anyone who’s met you once could hardly forget, Mr. Harrison, he replied with a lighthearted tone, even throwing in a small joke.
Daxon chuckled, “I’m a few years older than you. If you don’t mind, you can just call me Daxon
Aurora raised an eyebrow and agreed without hesitation, “Sure, Daxon. Daxon responded with a soft hum as if to acknowledge it.
Sensing the relaxation in his tone and knowing he wasn’t one to call without reason, Aurora’s intuition kicked in, and she blurted out, “Did you find your sister?”
The only connection between Aurora and Daxon was Annie, so it made sense to Aurora that he’d be calling for that reason. If not, Aurora couldn’t think of anything else.
His next words confirmed Aurora’s guess. “Yes, we did. You’ve got your SAT coming up, right? Once you’re done, I’ll bring Annie to Mereida so she can thank you in person.”
Daxon mused. The surveillance system back ten years ago wasn’t so advanced, so if it hadn’t been for Aurora, it would’ve taken us even longer to find Annie. Annie’s been eager to meet Aurora, and with the SAT out of the way, Aurora will have more free time. By then, Annie’s health should be much better, too!
He added, “I owe you a favor, don’t I? Whatever you want, start thinking about it now.”
Upon hearing that, Aurora grinned ear to ear. She was happy for Daxon, and as she remembered the day she got Aurielle’s Tiara, her wrist flicked, and the pen in her hand twirled so fast it almost blurred.
She teased, “Isn’t helping me humiliate the Newton family enough”
There was a brief silence on the other end. Aurora thought she heard someone speaking in the background, so she quickly said, “Daxon, if you’re busy, go ahead. We can chat another time
“It’s nothing,” Daxon calmly explained, his voice still steady. “Harry just came in to talk about the schedule: It’s no big deal
With that, he repeated once more. “Like I said before, the Newton family was just a side thing, it doesn’t count. Once you’ve made up your mind on what you want, give me a call.”
Aurora lowered her gaze to the sunlight spilling across the table She knew someone like Daxon was a man of his word, never one to owe anyone anything. It was probably best for her to come up with something simple right now so he could pay her back.
She figured she and Daxon belonged to two completely different worlds. After being given a second chance at life, she had more important things to deal with. She couldn’t drag him into this mess.
“Actually, I do have something in mind,” Aurora said. She then asked, “Do you know about Sunrise Pharmaceuticals?”

She thought, ‘Since Daxon wants to settle the favor, I might as well use it for Giles‘ case. Clearing Giles‘ name could win over some people, and besides, Giles is going to make me money later anyway. I won’t lose out either way!
“I do.” Daxon responded..
“Then do you know who’s backing Sunrise Pharmaceuticals?” Aurora asked again.
She recalled how, in her previous life, when the scandal about Sunrise Pharmaceuticals broke out, the general manager had arrogantly declared that their investors were wealthy and influential, and they couldn’t care less about such minor issues. They would definitely get through it and wouldn’t let the nuasses have the last laugh.
His cocky words had enraged netizens, who immediately started ligging into the investors‘ identities. They spent a whole week on it, but no solid information ever came out
With fresh scandals constantly popping up online, the public’s attention quickly shifted elsewhere. It was enough to show just how mysterious the people behind Sunrise Pharmaceuticals really were.
“I do” Daxon said again.
Aurora’s eyes lit up, and she quickly asked, “Who is it?”
Sunrise Pharmaceuticals was well–established in Mereida, and the herbal medicine market was already mostly divided up. As a newly founded company, there was no way she could gain a foothold anytime soon.
So, she thought, if she could find out who was behind Sunrise Pharmaceuticals, maybe she could catch a ride on their coautails.
“It’s me,” Daxon admitted.
Upon hearing that, Aurora was a bit surprised but quickly realized that it made perfect sense.
Daxon was the head of the Harrison family, one of the four prominent families in Jydratica, and their businesses spanned. across various industries. It was only natural for Sunrise Pharmaceuticals to be one of them.
“Has something happened at Sunrise Pharmaceuticals?” Daxon asked as he drummed his fingers lightly on the table, turning his chair back toward the computer. He clicked open the report the general manager of Sunrise Pharmaceuticals had recently submitted.
Given the recent incident at Sunrise Pharmaceuticals and Aurora suddenly bringing it up, he couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to the story.
Aurora thought that Daxon didn’t know about Giles‘ situation, especially since it wasn’t exposed until a few years later in her previous life.
She quickly explained the situation on the spot, ending with her own critique. “The general manager of Sunrise Pharmaceuticals only hires his relatives, has no long–term vision, and to top it off, he fired the key staff in the production department just to protect that useless nephew of his.
After Giles left, Sunrise Pharmaceuticals went quiet for several months. It wasn’t until they managed to bring in an expert, thanks to the backing of their investors money and connections, that the company slowly got back on track.
Daxon’s gaze sharpened after hearing Aurora. There was nothing he hated more than being deceived. “Thanks for the heads- up. I’ll look into it thoroughly.”
Aurora’s brows twitched as a thought suddenly came to her. “Oh right. Didn’t you ask me earlier what I wanted? I’ve made up my mind.”
Daxon immediately caught the hint and didn’t seem too pleased. “Sunrise Pharmaceuticals is having problems. Pick a company that’s in better shape.”

Aurora rested her chin m her hand, chuckling, Tm planning to start a pharmaceutical company. Sunrise Pharmaceuticals has the largest market share in Mereida, so compared to the others, it’s my best option”
She figured that taking over an already established company with clear divisions of labor would require far less effort than building one from scratch. As for the parasites within it, she could use this opportunity to clean them all out.
Daxon was silent for a moment before finally agreeing.
In the southern district of Mereida, the most striking building was none other than the towering Sunrise Pharmaceuticals headquarters, a skyscraper over thirty stories tall that supported the nearby supermarkets and hotels on three surrounding
streets
It was Monday morning at nine o’clock, peak time for the office crowd. Everyone entering Sunrise Pharmaceuticals looked sharp and energetic, while the security guards proactively stepped up to take the keys from the drivers, parking their cars in the underground garage.
Giles, dressed to impress and brimming with confidence, strode through the entrance of Sunrise Pharmaceuticals, with Harry suited up and walking right behind him.
In truth, Harry didn’t need to be involved in this matter. After all, he was Daxon’s personal assistant and highly capable. But this was different. Aurora was a benefactor of the Harrison family. So, when Daxon learned that she wouldn’t be there in person, he sent Harry along to make sure things went smoothly
