Giles froze for a moment and let out a bitter laugh. “What other plans could I possibly have? Irene had the baby, and we don’t even have diapers or formula yet, I need to find a job so I buy formula
Usually, with his temper, he would’ve demanded an explanation from Sunrise Pharmaceuticals and wouldn’t have let it slide so easily. But now he had a wife and child to think about. He couldn’t just fight for pride and let them suffer because of it
Even though Giles felt bitter about the situation, what could he do! He was completely broke, and Aurora had even covered his wife’s hospital bills.
He couldn’t stay in the pharmaceutical industry anymore, but by figured people were adaptable, so he could apply for jobs in other industries. The only downside was the pay wouldn’t be as good as before,
“Have you found a job yet?” Aurora asked.
Ciles hung his head low. “I plan to start looking once Irene gets out of the hospital Ms. Crawford, I might need more time to pay you back.”
He knew it wasn’t a good situation, but he had been childhood sweethearts with Irene. With her having gone into labor early due to unforeseen circumstances, both she and the baby were in poor health, and there was no one else to take care of them.
Besides, Giles couldn’t afford a caretaker either. Thinking of that his hands clenched into fists on his lap, frustration welling up inside him.
Aurora made her offer at just the right moment. I’m actually planning to start a company soon. Since you have experience, I’d like to hire you as my business manager. What do you think?”
Giles was stunned. He looked up at her, his eyes filled with surprise, disbelief, and gratitude. But all those emotions. eventually settled into a sense of bitterness.
“Ms. Crawford, you’re still young. Not everyone in this world is a kind as you think,” he said, his hands opening and closing a few times, his eyes growing red. But he still forced himself to finish speaking.
“I know you want to help me, but I’ve never managed a company before, and your money was hard–earned by your parents. You can’t just throw it away because you feel sorry for me-
Knowing that Giles misunderstood her, Aurora cut him off. It’s not about pity. In fact, I’m already looking for a location for the company. I just thought since you have so much experience in the pharmaceutical industry, you could help me avoid some pitfalls. Even without you, I would’ve hired someone else.”
Giles stared at her in a daze, noticing the determination in her eyes and the seriousness in her voice. She was nothing like the naïve high school student he assumed. He then mused, “Man, rich kids are raised is seriously hardcore. They just casually hand over a wad of cash to let a teenager start a company!
To prove that she wasn’t bluiling, Aurora pulled out her phone and clicked open a document. It was her business plan. “Take a look”
Giles didn’t quite get it at first and didn’t take it seriously. But as he settled down to read, his expression gradually shifted to one of surprise. The more he read, the more shocked he became and in the end, he had to admit it was an incredibly well- thought–out plan. Every angle had been carefully considered.
He knew there was no way a plan like this could have been put together in just a few days. It would have taken at least a couple of weeks. He couldn’t help but wonder if Aurora was actually serious about it
“What do you think?” Aurora tapped her fingers lightly on the table, pulling Giles out of his thoughts. “If you’re interested, I’m offering you a 150–thousand–dollar annual salary and a 30% share of the original stock.”

“Ms. Crawford, you’re back? Emma stood at the door of the living room, smiling warmly at Aurora. “Lunch is already on the
table.”
“It’s so nice having Ms. Crawford alone in the house, Our work is much more relaxed, Emma thought to herself. But just then, the phone in the living room rang. After hanging up, the smile on her face vanished.
Aurora noticed it and casually asked, “What’s wrong?”
Emma quickly composed herself and replied, “Mr. Crawford just called. They’ll be back the day after tomorrow. He asked us to prepare Ms. Maura Crawford’s room and change all the bedding.
Upon hearing that, Aurora raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of interest as she thought, ‘Oh, so Maura’s coming back, huh? I haven’t seen her since she was hospitalized. I wonder what she looks like now. I’m kind of curious
