Just then. Maura coughed up some water and sputtered awake. She tried to say something, but all that came out were violent, hacking coughs. Her hings were on fire, her chest tom apart from the inside as the water she’d swallowed tore through her.
Her ears rang, her brain throbbed, and sweat broke out across her threhead in tiny droplets. Every part of her body ached, and her vision swam in and out of focus She could barely speak.
Damon wiped the water off his face, his expression dark as he confronted Aurora. “Aurora, I know you’ve had it out for Maura ever since she got your dad’s love and attention. You’ve been gunning for her since the day you got back, but I didn’t think you’d go this far. This is murder,”
He climbed out of the pool, his clothes clinging to him, showing off faint outlines of abs and long legs, which made more than a few girls blush and stral glances.
Alison gently paned Maura’s back, trying to help her catch her breath. But when she glanced up, she caught Aurora’s smile. Alison immediately lost it and yelled. “You evil witch! How could you be so heartles! Look at what you’ve done to Maura, and you’re standing there smiling like it’s funny? You’ll not in hell”
Her shrill voice echoed around the pool, the sound bouncing off the walls and lingering in the air.
The commotion by the pool had drawn a crowd. People started gathering quickly, and the scene couldn’t have been more obvious. Aurora stood there, safe and sound, while Maura was pale as a ghost as she crumpled in Alison’s arms. Who was the winner was clear to anyone present.

“What the hell are you all yapping about?” Enk had heard enough of the accusations. He showed his way through the crowd with the rest of the Class F students and stood firm in front of Aurora
Damon looked down at Erik with that smug, superior expression and retorted, “Erik, this isn’t your business”
Damon and Enk were the same age, and from similar backgrounds. Their parents had compared them their whole lives. When they were younger, it wasn’t a big deal, but as they grew up, Damon started pulling ahead–better grades, representing Merrida High School in competitions, always in the spotlight.

Compared with Daimon, Erik was just too unimpressive. After a while, even Erik’s parents stopped bringing him up.

But Erik duin’t budge, which caught Damon off guard. Usually, Erik would avoid Damon on the campus without a second thought.
“Yeah! Well. Aurora’s in my class, and I’m the class president. So, yeah, it is my business” Erik stood firm, refusing to back down. Their eyes locked, and both of them were filled with anger.
Damon took a deep breath, fists clenched at his sides, clearly fighting the urge to throw a punch. His voice came out low and strained. “Aurora’s done this to Maura, and you’re really planning to cover for her!”
The tension between them was rising fast, drawing attention, and eventually, the PE teacher, Victor Olsen, showed up

Victor already had a long–standing grudge against Class F, so it didn’t take much for him to decide who was at fault. With righteous indignation, he announced. This behavior is completely unacceptable. I’ll be reporting this incident to the principal. Whether you’ll be expelled or just face severe punishment is up to the school
Hearing the word “expel made Maura’s eyes widen in surprise. But she quickly recovered and seized the opportunity–this could be her chance to get rid of Aurora for good. A rat like Aurora belonged in the sewers, not in their world of the elite, she thought.
“Ah…” Maura weakly covered her chest and let out a couple of delicate coughs. Once the attention shifted back to her, she said in a hoarse voice, “This is all my fault. I wasn’t steady on my feet. Please, don’t blame Aurora. ”
