Chapter 99
“Did you just hit me?” Thomas looked at her in disbelief. The girls he had encountered before were all gentle, so he was completely taken aback by the violence of Aurora.
Aurora sneered and hit him again, right in the same spot. She thought, ‘You were trying to sneak into my room at night with a key. I can’t let you off easily.
Thomas finally reacted, his previously gentle demeanor gone. I placed his palm against the wall for support, lunged forward, and attempted to grab Aurora by the throat.
Aurora stood her ground and raised her hand, throwing a large cloud of powder into Thomas‘ face. This was a new medicine she had just created, and Thomas could be the first to test its effects.
Caught off guard, Thomas coughed a couple of times as the powder choked him. Once he saw the white substance on his hands, he scoffed, “You should have used lime instead.”
Thomas thought, ‘She is indeed too naive to use flour, which is so much less harmful. Jaxon had already warned the servants to stay in their rooms and not come out. He created such a good opportunity for me. I must take her down tonight. I won’t be careless again!”
Aurora raised an eyebrow and thought, ‘Since you find that insufficient, I will give you more!” She kicked him in the groin, causing him to scream in pain.
Aurora looked coldly at Thomas, who was curled up on the ground, then slowly clapped her hands as if she had discovered something new, exclaiming, “I didn’t expect a man’s screams to be so loud!”
Jaxon, who lived on the third floor, heard the scream and felt something was wrong. He hurried downstairs. As soon as he arrived, he saw Thomas lying on the ground, his face a messy mix of flour and blood, looking utterly pathetic.
Jaxon thought, ‘Thomas, as an adult man, can’t even handle a little girl? What a waste! If I had known he was so useless, I wouldn’t have let him come. How can he still accept the things I bought for him?‘
Aurora raised an eyebrow and met Jaxon’s astonished gaze.
“Dad, he tried to sneak into my room to steal something.” Aurora stated, wanting to avoid wasting time on them. She took the initiative, saying, “Look, the key is still in the door. Let’s call the police. There must be his fingerprints on it.”
Aurora’s words caused all of Thomas‘ accusations against her to get stuck in his throat.
Jaxon would never allow Aurora to call the police. If Thomas implicated him, he would lose face in front of everyone.
Jaxon avoided eye contact and, after helping Thomas up, said, “Aurora, it’s late at night. Let’s not trouble the police. He is our relative, so be friendly.
“Look at what you did to Thomas. He didn’t even blame you, yet you are holding a grudge.”
Aurora feigned surprise. “Dad, what are you talking about? He clearly bumped into the door by accident. How is that my fault?”
Thomas was taken aback. Aurora twisted the facts around, leaving him confused. “It was you…” he instinctively countered. He couldn’t let the beating go unpunished and decided that Aurora needed to pay the price.
“Why don’t we call the police then? Let them handle it,” Aurora suggested with a beaming smile.
Both Thomas and Jaxon’s faces turned pale.
Thomas secretly glanced at the key on the door and thought, ‘If steal the key and flush it down the toilet, I can destroy the

evidence.
‘But Aurora reacts quickly and will demitely stop me.
‘My body still ached. If I failed, wouldn’t I just expose myself?
After all, Aurora is Jaxon’s daughter. Jaxon likely wouldn’t help me!

Thomas fell into a fierce struggle of thoughts, feeling frustrated by Aurora’s aggressiveness. He was the one who had been hit, yet Aurora wouldn’t let him off the hook.
In the end, Thomas held his breath and admitted Aurora’s claim “Yes, I accidentally hit the wall.” When he saw Aurora take out her phone, he exclaimed in panic, “What are you doing? Didn’t you agree not to call the police?”
Aurora chuckled, filled with mockery, “I’m just recording, so you can’t go back on your word and blame it on me.”
Thomas‘ face turned red, and he held back his anger and repeated the words. After saying this, he shot Aurora a fierce glare and slammed the door when he returned to his room.
In the hallway, only Aurora and Jaxon remained.
“Dad, it’s getting late. You should go rest,” Aurora said as she twisted the key in her hand, the silver key creating an afterimage.
Jaxon managed a smile, expressed concern for Aurora, and turned to head upstairs. As he turned, his face instantly darkened. He calculated, ‘One failure is nothing. As long as Aurora stays at Crawford Manor, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.
“Thomas looks good and has many girls chasing after him at school. He can definitely win over Aurora. Once Aurora falls for Thomas, she will obediently listen to his commands.
‘That’s how women are. Once they have love, no matter how wild they are, they will be tamed.’
Aurora scoffed, thinking, ‘Do you think I don’t know what you’re planning?
‘In my past life, I was deserted by everyone and looked down upon, and I didn’t even fall for Thomas then. This time, I got into Royal University and have my own company, with a bright future ahead. How could I possibly like that useless garbage, Thomas?
‘Men are just like trash to me. I look down on all of them.’
Right then, Aurora uncontrollably recalled what Annie had asked her, and a tall man’s face slowly appeared in her mind. That man’s last name was Harrison.
Aurora’s expression changed, and she pressed her forehead with her hand, brushing away the images in her mind, whispering, ‘It seems Annie has influenced me. There are so many ways to drive that woman away. Why did Annie choose this one? When I see Annie tomorrow, I need to teach her some methods to deal with wicked women.‘
In the early hours, Aurora was awakened by a noise in the hallway. She pulled back the curtains and saw an ambulance parked in the garden.
The lively Thomas now lay on a stretcher, being carried onto the vehicle by doctors and nurses.
Aurora thought, ‘The medication finally took effect. It was a bit slower than I expected. It seems the dosage needs to be adjusted. I hope this will get Jaxon and Thomas occupied. I am tired of always guarding against their schemes.
At six–thirty in the morning, Aurora woke up. After a quick wash, she opened the door and encountered the maid mopping the floor. “Ms. Crawford, good morning.”

Aurora nodded and casually, said, “Thomas fell here last night and left a lot of flour on the floor. Please mop this area carefully so that Griffin doesn’t make a mess while playing.”
The maid nodded and wiped the corners with a wet cloth. By the time Aurora finished breakfast and went upstairs to get her suitcase, the floor was so bright that it reflected her shadow, leaving no traces behind.
