Aurora 87

Chapter 87

Margaret pushed her damp bangs aside, her cheeks flushed red with anger and frustration. They were all crowding around you. Rory, so I tried to squeeze in too. But they just kept pushing me back.”

Aurora couldn’t help but chuckle. With her hair tied back in a ponytail, she was a vision of natural beauty. Her porcelain skin was flawless, and her delicate features seemed sculpted to perfection. When she smiled, it was as if the entire night sky had

 been captured in her expression

Margaret chitched her chest, swallowing hard Rory, you’re just so beautiful, she murmured

Just then, the door to their private room swing open. A parade of exquisitely prepared dishes was laid out on the table

The tantalizing aroma made Aurora realize how hungry she was. She noticed Margaret staring blankly into space, clearly lost in her own world, and couldn’t help but shake her head slightly

Time to eat!Aurora said, giving Margaret’s cheek a playful pinch to snap her out of her daze

The group was all classmates, so they skipped the formal business talk. As soon as the food arrived, they dug in. Once stuffed, they lounged around

I’m so full!someone groaned, sprawled out on the couch and clutching their stomach

Others still had energy to burn and wanted to hit the karaoke room. Aurora, not a fan of singing, headed for the movie room instead

Margaret, like a loyal puppy, followed Aurora everywhere she went. When Aurora excused herself to use the restroom, Margaret tagged along

The hotel’s th

I’s thick carpets muffled their footsteps as they walked. The two found themselves at the railing of an openair garden, taking in the nighttime view of Mereida

Rory, which college are you applying to?Margaret asked, sidling up to Aurora with a sheepish grin. “I want to pick a school

near you.”

She was selfaware enough to know her limitations. Rory’s grades were stellar, guaranteeing her pick of top school Margaret couldn’t match that, but being close to Aurora was the next best thing for her

Aurora shifted her position, resting her arms on the railing. She faced the open garden, letting the traffic noise from below fade into the background

Royal University has a great alternative medicine program. If my grades are good enough, I’d like to go there, she said

Margaret frowned, her voice tinged with disappointment. Jydratica is so far from Mereida. Dad wants me to go to college here in Mereida.”

Does this mean I won’t be able to study near Rory?she pouted

Aurora turned her head, the gentle breeze ruffling her hair. She couldn’t help but smile at Margaret’s gloomy expression I’m just going to Jydratica, not dying. You can come visit me anytime you want.”

With today’s transportation, people could see anyone anywhere in the world as long as they were alive

Oh, right!Margaret’s eyes lit up, I can fly there. It would only take a little over two hours. And Dad even has a private jet, which would be even faster

Margaret puffed-out her cheeks and tapped her forehead, mumbling to herself as she looked at her fingers. T’m just not as smart as you, Rory”

Chapter 87

A cool breeze rustled through the night air, carrying with it the sound of distant applause

The noise caught their attention, drawing their eyes to a barbecue in full swing on one side of the garden. Smoke rose from the charcoal, and the wind carried the irresistible aroma straight to their noses

Margaret sniffed appreciatively, patting her round belly. Rory, think I’m hungry again. Why don’t we head back and fire up the grill

The suggestion sparked Aurora’s interest too. It was rare to have such a laidback evening, perfect for indulging their whims

They turned to head back to their private room. They’d barely taken two steps when a commotion erupted behind them

What happened? What’s going on?someone shouted

Another voice called out, Everything was fine! How did they fall

Hurry, call an ambulance!a third person yelled

Something was clearly wrong. Aurora felt a twinge of unease and looked back

A crowd had gathered where the outdoor garden met the raised platform. Through the gaps, she could just make out someone lying on the ground. It seemed someone had suddenly taken ill

Margaret, wait here. I’m going to check it out,Aurora said. She made her way towards the commotion

The hotel staff, quick to spot trouble, had already dialed emergency services. One employee took charge, calmly instructing the crowd, Everyone, please remain calm. An ambulance is on its way. Is there anyone here with first aid training?”

Let me through! I know first aid!Aurora shouted

The crowd parted at these words, relieved to have someone take charge. It was then that Aurora got her first clear look at the person on the ground

A young woman lay there, fashionably dressed with a small, stylish crossbody bag. Her face was lightly made up. She would have been quite pretty if not for her current state

Now, she was sprawled on the floor, her limbs jerking uncontrollably. Her eyes had rolled back, and foam bubbled from het mouth. It was an alarming sight

Epilepsy Aurora recognized the symptoms instantly. She knelt down and carefully turned the woman onto her side. Everyone, please step back, she called to the onlookers. She needs air!”

The crowd shuffled back, muttering amongst themselves. Fear still lingered in their eyes

I saw her get off the elevator,” one person said. She was walking Just fine, then suddenly collapsed. Scared the life out of

me!”

Tsk, doesn’t this look like epilepsy?someone muttered

Another chimed in, What a shame. She’s so pretty, but afflicted with such a condition.”

Damn, if she’s got epilepsy, why isn’t she resting at home instead of making a scene out here?a third voice added

The crowd’s chatter grew louder, but Aurora remained focused, kneeling beside the woman to provide aid

Aripping sound cut through the noise. As the woman’s pale skin became visible, the onlookers fell silent for a moment

Why is she tearing her clothes?” someone asked

Chapter 87

Another speculated. Ripping someone’s clothes while they’re unconscious? Does she have a grudge against her or something?”

Aurora ignored the comments, adjusting the woman’s clothing slightly to ensure she could breathe easily. She hadn’t wanted to tear the clothes, but it was necessary for proper care

The woman who had collapsed was wearing a formfitting dress with a small collar that day. While it beautifully showcased her curves, its tightness could potentially hinder her breathing during this sudden medical emergency

Aurora pulled out a tissue from her pocket, placing it under the woman’s face to prevent any foarn from soiling her clothes. She subtly shifted her position to shield the woman from prying eyes..

Just then, a man wearing glasses crouched down and reached for the woman’s ankle

What are you doing?Aurora’s voice was sharp with suspicion

The man, startled by her tone, stammered, II saw her feet moving. I thought I’d hold thern still so she doesn’t hurt herself.”

You can’t forcibly restrain someone during a seizure.” Aurora stated firmly

Feeling defensive, the man argued, But this floor is wooden. What if there are splinters? Won’t her movements cause injury?”

Ignoring Aurora’s protests, he grabbed the woman’s ankles with both hands

As soon as he touched her soft, smooth skin, a dark glint flashed behind his glasses. His hands lingered around her ankles. Ir’s face betraying an unsettling look of pleasure
