Irene had assumed that Dustin would be like the other men She thought he was only standing up for her because he was drawn by her beauty. She also assumed that he would get beaten up like the others.

Ignoring the shock of those around him, Dustin turned and walked toward the jazz club’s exit. He did not even spare Irene a glance.

“Do you think you can just leave after killing Trevor?”
Trevor’s underlings could not just stand by and watch as Dustin left. They moved forward to stop him.
Dustin did not waste his breath. His gaze turned sharp as he made a small movement.
The person who had dared to stop him was dead.
After that, no one else dared to even make a noise.

Irene finally snapped back to the present. She glanced at Trevor’s corpse on the floor and recalled how Dustin had killed him. She could not help feeling shocked.
After a thought, she chased after Dustin.
On the street outside the jazz club, Irene ran after him.
“Sir, please wait a moment!” she yelled.
Dustin turned to look at her.
“What?”
Irene was stunned. She did not know what to say for a moment.
She had not thought things through before running after him. She realized that she did not really have a reason to keep Dustin waiting.
Dustin raised an eyebrow before he turned away and kept walking.
Suddenly, Irene felt panic.
“Sir, there’s something I need your help with!” Irene said as she followed behind.
“I can’t help you,” Dustin said bluntly.
He was in this town to kill a family, not to help people.

With her looks and social standing, she had never been rejected like this when she asked a man for help.
She had never been turned down so thoughtlessly.
“Sir, I’m a member of the West family of Lannopolis. If you help me, the West family will spare no expense in repaying your kindness! Just tell me how much you want!” Irene said hurriedly.
“There’s no need for that.” Dustin’s tone of voice was cold
“Sir, the West family can get you anything you want!” Irene did not give in.
“I don’t need anything.“–Dustin quickened his pace.
Irene became even more anxious. She ran after him even though she was exhausted.
“If you can help my family get through this, I’ll marry you!” she shouted.
Dustin paused, and he looked at her.
Then, he shook his head and kept walking.
Irene’s face turned stiff.
What did that mean?
What in the world did that look mean?
Did he not care for her looks?
Was she not pretty or hot enough?
She had always been admired. No one had ever looked down on her. She could hardly swallow this insult.
She had no clue that Dustin had met countless beautiful women before and was largely immune to feminine wiles. “Sir, you’re a fighter, right? The West family are fighters, too, just like the Fox family of Grayvale from ten years ago. After the destruction of the Fox family, we kept one of their martial arts manuals in our family. If you help us, I can give that to you,” yelled Irene one last time in hope.
The offer stopped Dustin in his tracks.
“The Fox family’s martial arts manual…” Dustin turned around and regarded Irene evenly. “How did the West family get their hands on it?”
Dustin’s gaze made Irene uneasy.
“I… I’m not sure about that. Only my grandfather knows…” she said softly.
“Take me to your family!” Dustin said icily.
“Thank you, sir!” Irene was ecstatic. She thought that Dustin had agreed to help her.
She had no clue that Dustin was the only surviving son of the Fox family.
