It was not until Devon Aquila had been thrown out of the Langley house for a good while that the Langley family members snapped out of their shock.
Their faces turned grim.
Devon was the second son of the Aquila family. In Margot’s eyes, he was a genuinely rich son–in–law who could help the Langley family fulfill their dreams of reaching a higher social standing.
But Dustin had ruined it all!
Margot was furious, but she was also scared of the Hell Guard, so she did not dare be too hostile to Dustin.
Instead, she turned her anger on Simone and her family.
“Simone, I’m going to ask you this just once. Are you going to marry Devon or not?” she asked loudly. “If you marry him, you’ll still be part of this family and will be treated right. You’ll be seen as someone who brought us great success and will be treated as an important member of the family.
“But if you insist on protecting that worthless trash, refuse to consider whether we rise or fall, and insist on getting on the Aquila family’s bad side, then you’re no longer part of this family. I will disown all of you!”
Margot’s words were a huge blow to Simone and her family.
They did not think that she would be so cruel for the sake of the family’s interests.
“I’ve said what I said. Make your own choice,” Margot said coldly.
She knew that David cared about the family, which was why she had intentionally put so much pressure on him. She wanted to force them into accepting marriage with Devon and cutting ties with Dustin.
Dustin was seething, and he wanted to attack Margot.
He had already warned them, but that old woman still wanted to put pressure on Simone and her family and force her to marry Devon. Was she ignoring his threat?
But David spoke up before Dustin could say anything.
With a wounded face, he said with a sigh, “I once wanted your approval more than anything in this world. That’s why I worked hard to be good enough for you.”
“If you listen to me, I’ll treat you with respect. Your status in this family will rise,” said Margot darkly.
But David shook his head. “I know that I was wrong. You’re all heartless and only care about your own interests and wealth. Why should I work so hard to prove myself to you?!”
The Langley family members‘ expressions froze on their faces.
“If we have to choose between all of you and Dustin, we will choose Dustin every time!” David said firmly.
Simone, Camille, and Monique’s faces reflected the same resolve.
Margot’s face turned red with rage.
The other Langley family members were in disbelief.
They had not expected David to side with Dustin even at the threat of being disowned.

Margot was so upset that her face turned red. In fact, her anger was so great that her face almost flushed purple, and she almost had a heart attack.
“David, you’re a horrible son! You don’t even listen to your own mother! Are you a monster?!” Derek shouted.
The other Langley family members yelled at them as well, but David and his family held steadfast to their decision.
The scene left Dustin shocked beyond words.
He had never been valued so much before. No one had ever sided with him with such fervor and determination.
They even chose to be disowned to protect him.
“You insolent brats!”
Margot pointed at them. In her rage, she wanted to jump up from her seat and swing her cane at them.
