“Are you saying that you called the president of the Excelsior Group to help the Langley Group?” asked Dustin with a teasing tone as he stared fixedly at Devon.
Devon’s face froze.
But after some thought, he assumed that Dustin would not know the president of the Excelsior Group personally. Feeling at ease, he said, “Yes! I owe him a huge favor since he agreed to help the Langley Group!”
Dustin laughed and said, “Then, I’ll have to ask him myself if that’s truly the case…”
Everyone was shocked.
“You know the president of the Excelsior Group? You’re lying!” Christian was the first to mock Dustin. “Who do you think you are? The president of the Excelsior Group is someone of high social status. You can’t possibly know him. You say you want to ask him? You act like you’re so amazing. Your nose grows longer by the second because of your lies!”
“Kid, your lie is far too obvious this time. You should be humble instead,” Derek growled.
“You lie to make yourself look good, but you have no skills whatsoever. David, your entire family must be blind! How could you even think of giving Simone to someone like him?!” Margot sneered.
When Devon saw that everyone was on his side, he felt confident.
“You’re doubting me? Fine. Since you say that you know the president of the Excelsior Group, call him. I’m the second son of the Aquila family. I don’t need to make up such a lie. Ask him now! If you can’t get the truth, then it’ll prove to all of us that you were just wasting our time!” he shouted as he pointed at Dustin.
Everyone looked at Dustin.
Dustin smiled and took out his phone. He scrolled down to Duke Mortimer’s name and pressed on the video call button. He lifted his phone to show his screen to the others.
“You’re calling him? To think you’d forge things to such an extent to keep up your lie… Aren’t you worried about embarrassing yourself? Still, I suppose I’m a little impressed by your dedication,” said Christian with a scoff.
“We already know that Mr. Mortimer is a busy man and never accepts video calls. Even if it’s just a voice message, his assistant is the one who answers it,” Devon said with a cackle.
He was not worried. He was sure that Dustin did not know Duke at all.
Beep.
There was a click, and the call went through. Duke’s face showed up on the screen.
“Mr. Fox, is there something you need?” Duke looked nervous. When he saw Dustin, he thought that Dustin might have some requests for him. But when he saw Simone and the others, he switched to a much more casual tone of
voice.
When he went to Rivenesco, Dustin had told him that he wanted to keep his identity as the King of Hades hidden
away.
Everyone was shocked.
Dustin… knew Duke, and he even got him to answer a video call!
How could someone of Dustin’s status be in contact with Duke?

Devon’s face stiffened. He could not believe it.
Duke was a busy man and did not even accept video calls from his own family…
Why was he making an exception for the piece of trash from the Wyatt family?
Also, Duke had looked a little nervous in the beginning.
He could not believe it.
Dustin turned his phone to Devon and said, “Mr. Mortimer, I’m sure you know Devon Aquila.”
“I’ve heard of him,” Duke said indifferently.
“Mr. Devon claims that he kindly told you to come to Rivenesco to initiate a collaboration with the Langley Group,” Dustin said.
Devon’s face turned red.
“He told me?” Duke scowled. “Mr. Devon, you think you can order me around?”
He was practically hissing those words out in a furious voice.
Cold sweat broke out on Devon’s forehead.
The Aquila family was a little stronger than the Mortimer family, but Duke was the head of the Mortimer family. He was on the same level as Devon’s grandfather. Someone like Devon did not have the power to order him around.
Also, the seniors of his family had warned him plenty of times to avoid getting on the Mortimer family’s bad side. Their power and influence was far greater than what it seemed on the surface.
