“Get someone to unlock the door. This is our home. How dare she! A woman like her won’t listen unless you teach her a lesson. You need to show her who’s the head of the home.” Alina fumed with advice.
Phoebe hugged Austin, crying, “Dad, hit her. She’s so bad.”
Austin frowned at Alina. “Mom, don’t say things like that in front of Phoebe,”
Alina snapped, “So what are we going to do now?”
“Let’s ask someone from the community council to mediate, Austin suggested, rubbing his forehead as he called the community council.
When the council director arrived, she looked unhappy and gave Austin a disapproving look. “Your wife told me the situation yesterday. You cheated on her and even got a child while she was not in Henvisburg
“You were in the wrong first, so it’s no surprise she doesn’t want you back.”
Austin held back his anger, gritting his teeth as he replied, “Ms. Pratt, aren’t you supposed to be mediating? This is our shared home.”
Caitlyn scoffed and pressed the doorbell “Courtney, it’s Caitlyn. It’s not good to keep them out of the home. The neighbors have complained about the disturbance. Could you let him in and have a private talk for my sake?”
Courtney opened the door, her eyes red, looking so fragile and ready to collapse. She sobbed, “Okay, Ms. Pratt, I’ll listen to you. Sorry for the trouble.”
Caitlyn sighed, looking at Courtney with sympathy. “You’re such a wonderful woman. Some men just don’t appreciate their good lives and always have
to mess things up.”
Giving Austin a stern glance, Caitlyn said, “You two talk it out. If you dare to lay a finger on her, I’ll report you to the community council.
“Even though you have a share of this place, you won’t be allowed back in the community. We’ll mark you as a dangerous person.”
Austin gritted his teeth and held Phoebe close, not saying a word, afraid his anger might scare her
With Austin there, Alina felt more confident and started cursing. “You shameless bitch! You deserve the worst!”
“What’s your problem? is this how a mother–in–law should act?” Caelyn hadn’t even reached the elevator when she heard Alina yelling. “If you keep this up, I’ll mark you as a dangerous person tomorrow and won’t let you into the community.”
Alina was angry and wanted to say more, but Austin stopped her. He entered the apartment with a grim face, put Phoebe down, and closed the door behind him.
“Courtney, what do you mean by this? Phoebe is innocent. Do you really want to ruin her? She’s so young! If there’s an issue, just deal with me!” Austin said angrily, looking at Courtney.
Courtney looked at Austin. “Deal with you?” She nodded and then slapped Austin hard across the face.
“You crazy woman, how dare you hit my son!” Seeing that she had the upper hand in numbers, Alina rushed forward to attack Courtney.
Courtney pulled out a kitchen knife and pointed it at Alina, making her freeze in place. “Austin, she’s mad. Quickly take her to a mental hospital.”
Austin felt a little guilty, but seeing Courtney pointing a knife at his mom, he got angry. “Courtney! Don’t go too far. My mom is your elder.”

Austin quickly ran over to check and took a sharp breath. It was true, Phoebe’s belongings had all been thrown out. The room had been turned into a storage room, piled up with a mess of junk.
Austin glared angrily at Courtney. “What do you mean? This is a kid’s room.”
“Austin, we don’t have kids, so why should there be a kid’s room?” Courtney sneered, sitting on the sofa with a kitchen knife, her legs crossed.
She thought, ‘Do they really think I spent those years in South Weidan just to enjoy life?”
“Courtney, you’re going too far!” Austin was trembling with anger, yet there was nothing he could do about her.
Alina was also furious, sitting on the ground, crying and cursing
“You bad woman, give me back my toys,” Phoebe cried, jumping up and down. When Austin wasn’t watching, Phoebe ran towards Courtney.

Courtney waved the kitchen knife in her hand, frightening Austin so much that he almost knelt down.
“What are you doing, you crazy woman?” Alina shouted in terror, pointing at Courtney. “Don’t hurt Phoebe.”
Courtney held the knife close to Phoebe’s neck, scaring her so much that she stopped crying.
“Like parents, like children. She was just taking over my home.” Courtney put down the kitchen knife and smacked Phoebe hard on the backside,
She added, “Remember, this is my home, and nothing here belongs to you. You want to be in charge? Dream on”
“Courtney!” Austin shouted angrily. “I’ve never hit her. What right do you have to do it?”
Austin rushed over and picked up Phoebe, glaring at Courtney while raising his hand to strike her. “I know you hate me. If you have a problem, take it out

Courtney lifted her head and looked coldly at Austin’s eyes, picking up the kitchen knife from the sofa.
She thought, if he dares make a move, I will slash at him, and at worst, we’ll die together.”
