Keyla rolled her eyes at Austin, “So, you don’t recognize your own wife and live with a mistress in the apartment your wife bought. You small–town guys
are just gross.”

The neighborhood ladies were already biased, and now they avoided Austin
in like the
plague.
Austin took a deep breath, his face darkening as he quickly went upstairs. He wondered why everyone in the neighborhood was suddenly calling Vera a mistress.
Austin didn’t care how they gossiped about Vera. But he didn’t allow them to get Phoebe involved. Phoebe was his only weakness
Stepping out of the elevator, Austin nearly walked past his own front door.
He took a closer look and realized the front door had been changed. He raised his hand to try the fingerprint scanner and found he couldn’t open the door. Austin, feeling both angry and embarrassed, called Alina.
He hadn’t even managed to dial before he heard Phoebe’s cries and Alina’s cursing
