Tyson furrowed his brows, noticing that something seemed off with Hayden.
Courtney had also woken up. Seeing the doctors around, she hurriedly stood up.
Tyson stepped forward and pointed at Courtney. “Do you know her? Blink if you do.”

Courtney looked at Hayden as well, her emotions somewhat conflicted. She both hoped he remembered and hoped he didn’t. But Hayden blinked, his gaze toward Courtney as gentle and affectionate as ever,
Tyson let out a sigh of relief. ‘No memory loss, no mental issues, he thought. Then he pointed to himself. “What about me? Blink if you know me.”
To his surprise, Hayden didn’t blink. Instead, he continued to look at Tyson with a wary, dangerous, and unfamiliar gaze.
“Oh no!” Tyson mumbled. “His brain has problems.”
Courtney was also puzzled. “How could he recognize me but not Tyson?‘ she wondered.
Unwilling to give up, Tyson wake Carl from his sleep and dragged him over. “What about him? Do you recognize him?”
Hayden’s gaze remained wary, and he didn’t blink. He didn’t recognize Carl either.
Courtney opened her mouth in surprise.
“Maybe… he hasn’t fully recovered yet, it might take a few more days. After all, he just woke up.” Tyson tried to comfort himself with that thought, but soon, he couldn’t bring himself to smile anymore.
After another two weeks in the hospital, Hayden’s injuries had healed significantly. He could finally sit up and eat. But he only allowed Courtney to take
care of him or approach him.
Anyone else, including the doctors, would provoke his defensiveness and hostility if they approached him,
The doctors explained that Hayden was suffering from severe psychological trauma and a stress response, making him distrustful of everyone. Yet, he
completely trusted Courtney
“Hayden, do you remember me?” Steven asked. Tyson
yson had no other choice but to call Steven over.
Steven was Hayden’s childhood friend and also a psychologist, so Tyson thought Hayden might be less resistant to him. However, Hayden remained just as guarded, gripping Courtney’s hand protectively.
Tyson finally understood that Hayden was equally wary and hostile toward every male, thinking they were all trying to take Courtney from him.
“Who am 17” Tyson asked again through gritted teeth.
“I don’t know you. Get lost,” Hayden snapped at him, clearly irritated.
Tyson clenched his jaw in frustration. As Hayden’s superior, Tyson had always been the one asserting authority over him, but now it was Hayden turning the tables and scolding him instead.
“Uncle, don’t be mad. Hayden’s sick. His brain’s a bit off. Don’t take it personally,” Carl said, suppressing a laugh as he tried to comfort Tyson. Then he pointed to himself. “Hayden, do you remember me?”
“I don’t know you either. Get lost.” Hayden remained defensive, now hugging Courtney tightly.

Chapter 117
Courtney felt a bit awkward and tried to push Hayden away, but he wouldn’t let go
“What about her?” Tyson pointed at Courtory
“She’s my wife?” Hayden declared fiercely, like a protective leopard guarding its mate
“Damn it. Damn it.” Tyson raised a hand to rub his temples. “He’s completely lost it. His mind is fried”
Courtney stared at Hayden in shock. Does he really not know, or is he just pretending she wondered.
Hayden was covered in injuries and wouldn’t let anyone near, so Courtney had no choice but to take care of him herself
“I’m not your wife, Courtney whispered.
“You are, Hayden retorted, clearly unhappy.
Courtney wanted to refute, but Steven stopped her. “Courtney, can we talk privately?” he ask
> asked.
At the mention of Courtney’s name, Hayden’s hackles rose, and he looked ready to show his teeth if he could. He looked at Steven warily. “Why are you
calling my wife?”
Steven was a bit at a
oit at a loss for words and explained in a low voice, “I’m a doctor, and I need your wife’s cooperation to discuss your treatment plan,”
When Hayden heard Steven refer to Courtney as “his wife,” he finally relaxed his guard and raised an eyebrow. “Hurry up, then,”
Courtney took a deep breath and rubbed her temples. “Is this a brain injury, or just a sudden drop in 1Q?‘ che wondered.
Seeing Courtney follow Steven out, Tyson gritted his teeth and questioned, “Hayden, don’t play games with me. Have you really become stupid, or are you just pretending?”
Hayden’s expression darkened. “Are you out of your mind? I think y
you’re the one who’s stupid. I don’t even know you
‘you.”
Carl quickly grabbed Tyson, “Uncle, the doctors said there’s a blood clot in his brain pressing on the nerves. It’s normal for him not to recognize us right now. Once the clot is absorbed, he’ll be fine.”
Tyson snorted angrily and stormed off. ‘He’s forgotten everyone but remembers Courtney, behaving like a protective dog, snapping at anyone who gets close to her. Useless idiot,’ he thought.
in the emergency stairwell, Steven looked at Courtney with an apologetic expression. “I’m sorry for being so forward, but I really hope you can cooperate with Hayden. It will help his recovery
When people endure extreme pain, the brain sometimes selectively erases those memories. He’s been through a tremendous shock. He’s forgotten everything except you. Courtney, you’re very important to him.”
Courtney froze for a moment, then fell silent.
“If you cooperate with his treatment, his recovery will be much faster,” Steven pleaded softly. “Courtney, Hayden doesn’t have parents, and he…
*Taking care of him until he recovers is my responsibility Courtney interrupted Steven. “Till cooperate.”
‘Hayden can say whatever he wants for now. Once he recovers, I’ll clear things up Courtney thought.
