Chapter 6
Samuel unfolded the paper with trembling hands.
His face turned as pale as snow when he read the content of the paper.
It was the notice of Nina’s cremation.
He fell onto the ground in a daze.
“Samuel, you killed Nina!” I spat while looking at him coldly.
“It’s not me. I–I… I just…” He suddenly remembered something. He stood up through the pain. “That day… The principal told me that there were only people on the first floor! That was why I…‘
My father no longer wanted to see his face. He immediately got the guards to kick Samuel out. “You’re just a nobody. How dare you do this to Rachel and Nina!”
My father instructed one of his subordinates, “Look into the principal’s background.”
We were in the security business. We had connections even in the underworld. Getting a private detective to look into this would be a piece of cake.
Soon, they found out all the information about the principal of the kindergarten.
When I saw it, my legs almost gave out. I supported myself by holding onto the corner of the table. “The principal is Edith Wenzel. She’s Dana Sharp’s mother.”
My mother’s gaze darkened. “That means that Nina’s death was more complicated than it seemed.”
It would be extremely challenging to get Dana and her mother to admit their crimes. I would have to start from Tilly!
I remembered from looking at Samuel and Dana’s chats that Dana would bring Tilly to an education center every Wednesday afternoon.
Coincidentally, it was Wednesday that day.
I led a few guards with me. When I arrived there, I noticed that the person accompanying Tilly was not Dana but a middle–aged woman. Tilly was calling her Grandma.
Perfect.
While the older woman was distracted, I got someone to trick Tilly into the stairwell.
When Tilly saw me, she immediately started wailing.
I suppressed the disgust in me and bent down to wipe away her tears. “Don’t cry. I was wrong. I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m sorry.”

Tilly looked at me suspiciously. I immediately said, “I’m going to divorce your Uncle Samuel. I will no longer bother him anymore. Are you happy?”
Tilly smiled widely. She jumped in delight, “Yes! Very! My mother was right! If Nina and I were in danger, Uncle Samuel would surely rescue me first!”
The alarm in my head went off. I immediately asked, “Tilly, what do you mean when you are in danger? I’m very curious. How are you so amazing that you could get Uncle Samuel to treat you so nicely?”
Tilly beamed at me and said proudly, “I only set a small fire. I wanted to see who Uncle Samuel would rescue first…”
Before I could react, the door was kicked open.
Edith, Tilly’s grandmother, rushed over like a maniac. She picked Tilly up and covered her mouth. She barked, “I’m going to call the police! This is kidnapping!”
I took a deep breath and looked at her coldly. “You’re the principal of Little Sunshine, right? You were the one who told Samuel Leif that there was no one upstairs on the day of the fire, right? Did you know that two people died because of you?”
The guards behind Edith immediately understood my command. They seized Edith.
Tilly slapped my leg. “You bitch! My mother always said that you’re a bitch! You stole the father that I wanted! Now you’re taking my grandmother away!”
I looked at Tilly with furrowed brows. I was stunned to hear those words coming out from a five–year–old.
