Chapter 2
Our 7 year anniversary. A day that used to feel magical.
I had gone all out this year–candles flickering softly, the table set with his favorite dishes, eagerly waiting for him to bring me my annual surprise gift.
My wolf, restless but hopeful, paced in my mind as I waited for him to walk through the door.
The clock ticked. Minutes stretched into hours. Finally, I received his telepathy.
“It’s thundering,” AlphaJasper’s voice came through, oddly calm. “Bianca says she’s scared to be alone. I need to go be with her. Don’t wait

The candlelight went out. The food grew cold.
Next day, When I gathered the courage to ask about the gift later, his answer felt like a slap. “Bianca liked it, so I gave it to her first.”
I blinked. “What? That was our anniversary gift, Alpha Jasper. It had special meaning–how could you just… give it away?”
He sighed, his tone bordering on annoyance. “Bianca isn’t just someone else. She’s my sister-in–law. She’s family.”
The word “family” felt like a dagger.
“She’s not my family,” I said quietly.

Alpha Jasper frowned. “I hope you’ll learn to care for her, not treat her like an enemy. Can you do that?”
Enemy? I had never seen her as one–at least, not at first.
It was supposed to be a peaceful camping trip. Just the two of us. A rare moment away from pack duties.
But, as always, Omega Bianca tagged along.
In front of Alpha Jasper, she batted her big innocent eyes. “Luna Audrey, I’ve never tried camping before. I only came because I was

curious. Please don’t blame Alpha Jasper.”
She looked so pure and vulnerable, completely innocent.
When Alpha Jasper stepped away to set up the tents, her mask slipped.
“Your face, your figure… they’re not Alpha Jasper’s type,” she said with a smirk. “He doesn’t like violent women like you. If you don’t want to lose badly, maybe step aside now.”
I stiffened, my wolf bristling at the insult. “You’re delusional if you think he’ll choose you over me.”
Omega Bianca chuckled softly, flipping her hair. “Keep telling yourself that.”

Our argument grew heated. In the middle of it, rogue wolves ambushed us, drawn by the noise.
when one rogue lunged for Omega Bianca, his focus wavered. He saved her, leaving me exposed to crazy rogue wolves.
I still had the scars.
He could give me up for her, and in that moment, I realized words didn’t matter. Actions
did.
I left the hospital earlier than Omega Bianca and went home alone, carrying my things.

My wolf whimpered at the memory, the bond between Alpha Jasper and me strained to the breaking point. I couldn’t stay.
The first thing I did was inform our friends and family that the engagement was off. The invitations–each one painstakingly chosen to match our wedding theme–are to be returned.
Next, I submitted my resignation at the Packhouse. It wasn’t a job I loved, anyway. I’d only taken the Luna job because Alpha Jasper asked me to stay close to him.
But that day, Omega Bianca told me, “Do you know why Alpha Jasper loves coming back to the Ambersy Pack?”
she asked, her voice dripping with triumph.

“Because this is my home. It’s where I grew up. You’re just an outsider, Audrey.”
Her words stung more than I wanted to admit.
She wasn’t wrong.
She occupied too important a part of his life.
And unfortunately, I had realized it too late.
My wolf curled up inside me, licking her wounds.
I thought back to my childhood, how my parents‘ divorce and my mother’s strict love had shaped me into someone who longed for

connection.
When my mother passed away in high school, I felt truly alone.
Then came Alpha Jasper–gentle, handsome, and full of promises.
“You’re not alone anymore, Audrey,” he’d said, his eyes warm and earnest. “From now on, I’ll be by your side. No matter what happens, you can rely on me.”
I believed him.
To repay his love, I molded myself into what I thought he wanted.
He liked long hair, so I didn’t cut mine for

years. He admired smooth skin, so I scheduled monthly facials. He preferred slender waists, so I skipped meals.
Then, I was shocked to realize that all these traits were what Omega Bianca possessed.
