Chapter 17

The door was pushed open, and I heard a familiar female voice.
“Sorry, we’re late.”
Everyone stood up, indicating that the newcomers held a prestigious status.
I turned around and saw Sienna and Corey standing at the door.
Corey was handsome, and Sienna was beautiful. They looked so perfect together.
Sienna held Corey’s arm, and her pretty and delicate face showed a happy smile.
It seemed that their married life was not bad.
I sat in the corner with the least presence.
But Corey seemed to have spotted me as soon as he entered the door.
At this moment, his usual calm eyes carried a hint of shock and excitement.
But he restrained himself.
His gaze lingered on me for just a moment before hurriedly. shifting away.

They walked past me, arm in arm, smiling, and then took their seats in the center.
For a moment, people all flattered them.
But it was also weird.
From beginning to end, there was little communication between Sienna and Corey.
Sienna was showcasing her social skills and quickly engaged in conversation with others.
Only Corey remained silent.
From time to time, I could feel that familiar gaze on me.
I found it a bit uncomfortable.
I got up, planning to leave.
“Ms. Colton, long time no see.”
Someone stopped me.
I turned and met Sienna’s eyes, which were tainted with some
mystery.
As soon as she said this, all eyes were drawn to me.
I remained calm and smiled as I nodded. “Long time no see, Ms.
Grant.”
I thought it was just a greeting.
But unexpectedly, Sienna picked up the wine glass and walked towards me.
I could see very clearly that some emotions were surging in her eyes.
“You and Corey have a bit of history together. Now that we’ve met again, I should ask how you’ve been doing lately.
“Are you married?”
Although it was a harmless question, Sienna deliberately spoke in a tone tinged with a hint of disdain.
The smile on my face faded a bit.
“Sorry, that’s my privacy. I choose not to answer it.”
But Sienna kept pressing on.
She grabbed my wrist. “Ms. Colton, why are you in such a hurry to leave? Is it because you’re upset seeing Corey with me now?”
The smile on my face was completely gone, and my tone turned cold. “Ms. Grant, your behavior right now is a bit inappropriate.”
Instead of letting me go, Sienna squeezed my wrist even tighter.
She asked persistently, “Why didn’t you come to our wedding?
“Ms. Colton, I have no other intentions. I just want to receive your sincere blessings.
“Did you come back to Capital because you can’t let go?
Chapter 17
“Now that Corey and I are happily together, I don’t want any ill–intentioned people to disrupt our happiness.

“After all, everyone in this circle knows that you’ve loved Corey for so many years. You even went so far as to make me leave and force Corey into marriage.
“Now that you have been abandoned and divorced, I have successfully married him. I don’t believe you are willing to accept this.”
Sienna’s words became increasingly harsh as if she wouldn’t be satisfied until I got mad out of jealousy.
I caught a glimpse of Corey still sitting there in silence, seemingly unrelated to these matters.
He was still the same as before, acting it was none of his
business.
