Chapter 12
Even in such a rural area, Corey was still dressed in a suit and tie, with every detail meticulously arranged.
Sensing my astonished gaze, Corey looked up, wearing a smile on his dignified and handsome face. His eyes were filled with an unprecedented softness.
“Lena.”
He called out to me softly, and his steps quickened as he approached.
To be honest, if it were in the past, I would forgive everything he did with his current attitude.
I didn’t want to admit it, but I had fallen in love with him during our ten–year marriage.
But now, I felt nothing but indifferent.
I avoided Corey’s hand and said in a cold and distant tone, “What are you doing here?”
Ethan came over and grabbed my hand. “Mom, both Dad and I miss you. Can you come home with us?
“This place is so dirty and messy, and there’s that wild girl.”
I lowered my head. Under Ethan’s expectant gaze, I gave a cold
smile
“Also, apologize to Mia.”
Ethan raised his chin slightly and said, “I won’t apologize. I’m just speaking the truth. She stole my mom. Doesn’t she have a mother herself?
“She is indeed a wild girl.”
Hearing herself being insulted, Mia became mad and ran over to push Ethan away.
“You are so rude. No wonder Lena doesn’t like you.”
Ethan had lived with Corey since childhood and had developed a relatively steady personality.
But he actually lost his coolness because of what Mia said. His eyes turned red, and he rushed over to grab Mia’s hair.
Just like that, they started to fight in front of me.
Pissed, I pulled them apart.
Before I could say anything, Ethan started crying and stretched out his hand.
“Mom, I didn’t use any force. She was the one who started it first and bit me. It hurts so much.”
With a gloomy expression, I shot a glare at Corey, who stood silently beside me.
Then, under Ethan’s eager gaze, I raised my hand and slapped him.
Chapter 12
It wasn’t heavy, but it was a little loud.
Ethan was stunned at that moment. He covered his face, looking at me in disbelief.
In the eight years of taking care of him, I had hardly spoken harshly to him, let alone beat him.
I ignored Ethan, who was crying hard. Then, I came over to embrace Mia.
Corey was a bit displeased. “Ethan is your son, no matter what. Lena, you’ve really gone too far.”
“Since she is his mother, she can educate him however she
wants.
“She’s better than you, who only stands by and does nothing.”
Brian also came out at this moment and spoke rather rudely.
The two men stared at each other, and the air immediately became tense.
Instead of being angry, Corey let out a chuckle and extended his hand toward Brian, his eyes carrying a hint of pressure. “Hello, I’m Corey Skye, Lena’s husband.”
1 added coldly, “Ex–husband.”
Corey instantly stopped smiling. Brian, on the other hand, broke out smiling.
1 niekad un Mia took a deep breath, and looked at Corey and
with even colder eyes.
“I don’t have time for you. So, I’ll keep it short. We are divorced, and this is something both of us agreed upon. I hope you can understand it and not make things difficult or embarrassing for us, Mr. Skye.”
In a panic, Corey spoke urgently, “I don’t believe it!
“I don’t believe you chose to divorce me at your own will.”
Instead of looking at him, I followed Brian into the house while holding Mia.
I would prove it with my actions if it were my own will.
