Chapter 11
Feeling bad for Mia, I stopped dwelling on these trivial things.
Mia’s soft and warm hand held mine, and her eyes blinked. “My brother made chicken soup with mushrooms, and he wants you to have it with us.
“Mr. Lewis at the village entrance also asked you to visit him.
tomorrow.”
I hugged Mia, feeling amused.
The villagers were really warm and simple.
After all, the previous owner of the coffee plantation had already planned to close it.
Once it was closed, it would be hard for the villagers to raise their children.
Fortunately, I took it over.
The coffee beans in this place were organic, hand–picked, and made using traditional methods.
But because of the poor transportation, their coffee couldn’t gain widespread fame.
I was willing to take over, but I wouldn’t tolerate losing money.
When I followed Mia to her home, the rain had already diminished significantly, and the air was filled with a scent of rain mixed with
Chapter 11 soil.
Someone was busy working in the yard.
Only upon closer look did I see that it was Mia’s brother, Brian Xavier, chopping wood.
He was topless and swinging the axe hard, moving the beautiful and perfect muscle lines on his body.
A thin layer of sweat had already formed on his tanned skin.
Brian had a rugged and wild feature with awe–inspiring physical
attributes.
I was thinking that for the later–stage promotion, we might need a model, and perhaps we could ask him for help.
My gaze was too direct, and Brian noticed me. He turned his head and looked over just in time to meet my eyes.
He was really thin–skinned.
Both his face and his ears turned red, and he stammered, “Le… Lena, hello.”
I smiled and said, “Call me Ms. Colton.”
Brian said jokingly, “Mia even calls you Lena. If I call you Ms. Colton, isn’t that a bit messy?”
I entered the room and sat down. Brian had already gotten dressed, but the flush on his face had not yet faded.
He was indeed a good cook.
Because he had been taking care of Mia for a long time, Brian was a real expert in household chores.
Looking back on the years of my being a housewife, I suddenly came to a realization.
I realized that it wasn’t necessarily women’s responsibility to handle housework.
While eating, Brian talked about building a guesthouse with me.
In fact, there were quite some travelers coming every year, and once my coffee plantation gained a reputation, this place would need more development.
After I shared my idea, Brian insisted on working with me.
I emphasized to him very seriously that I had never done any business before.
Not losing everything was where I drew the line.
Brian just smiled and added a few more pieces of chicken to my plate.
After eating, Mia asked me to play with her.
she would
She loved to play with me. Every time she looked at me, she w give me those puppy eyes.
I also found it strange that I would always go soft when I saw her like
that.
Chapter 11
While we were having fun, a hand suddenly reached over to grab Mia’s toy and cast it away.
At that moment, I thought I was hallucinating.
Ethan suddenly showed up from nowhere and was glaring fiercely at Mia.
Frightened, Mia hid behind me.
Ethan’s face turned even more pale with anxiety. “Come out. That’s my mom. Why are you hiding behind her?”
Then, I heard footsteps coming behind.
I turned around and found Corey, who was still impeccably dressed in a suit.
Behind him, several assistants were helping to carry the
suitcases.
