Chapter 5
Anna remained silent, and after a while, she no longer wanted to continue playing along.
“It’s late. I’m going home.”
Jonathan stood up as well, ready to leave, but his friends quickly stopped him.
“Your wife isn’t feeling well and needs to rest. We haven’t seen you in a long time; you can’t leave just yet!”
“Yeah, let your wife go back to her beauty sleep. Stay and have some fun with us!”
Anna gently pulled her hand out of Jonathan’s grip and spoke calmly, “The driver will take me home. You stay.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned and left.
She walked quickly, so fast that Jonathan didn’t have time to stop her.
Not long after the car drove off, Anna found a phone in her coat pocket that didn’t belong to her.
It was Jonathan’s phone.
She frowned and immediately instructed the driver to turn around.
When the car stopped outside the bar, Anna saw Isabella getting out of a taxi.
Isabella was busy checking her makeup on her phone, not paying attention to where she was walking, and headed straight for the private room.
Anna instinctively tightened her grip on the phone in her hand and followed Isabella’s pace.
Sure enough, Isabella stopped at the very private room where Jonathan was.
As soon as she entered, Isabella threw herself into Jonathan’s arms.
He instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist and lovingly adjusted her hair. “You came so quickly?”
Isabella leaned against his shoulder, playfully smiling. “I missed you! As soon as I got your call, I rushed over.”
Jonathan chuckled. “Well, then you should be rewarded.”
He kissed her passionately on the lips, and their kiss quickly deepened.
“Alright, alright, stop showing off!”
His friends were not at all surprised, instead teasing them with amused laughter.

Anna stood outside the door, watching everything through the gap, feeling an icy chill run through her body.
So, everyone knew about Jonathan and Isabella.
They were all just putting on an act in front of her.
“Jonathan, now that Isabella’s here, can we play some more… intense games?”
His friends raised their eyebrows and clapped, calling over the women from earlier.
Soon, almost everyone was holding a woman in their arms.
The game was simple–spin the bottle. Whoever the bottle pointed to had to answer a truth or
dare.
After several rounds, the bottle finally landed on Jonathan.
The group cheered, the atmosphere becoming more and more intense.
“Jonathan, the last time was when?”
The question was asked with an ambiguous smile, and everyone understood what was meant by it.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow and answered casually, “Yesterday, in the car.”
The room immediately erupted in shock.
“My god, that’s bold! How did it feel?”
Isabella’s face had turned bright red, and she buried her face in Jonathan’s chest. He smiled smugly and said, “She served me well. Very… satisfying.”
“Haha, I told you, mistress is more charming than wife!”
“Exactly, Jonathan. With our status, who doesn’t have a few women on the side?”
“As long as it’s kept quiet, we can enjoy life without any problems. Anna will never find out.”
As they spoke, his friends casually kissed their companions and touched them up.
But as soon as they mentioned Anna’s name, Jonathan’s smile instantly froze. His face darkened, and he sternly said, “Don’t mess around in front of Anna. Or else… you all know the consequences.”
“Got it, got it! We won’t let her find out.”
Every word of their conversation reached Anna’s ears.
The laughter inside the room continued, but Anna felt completely numb, her body cold as ice. She didn’t even realize when her feet had gone numb, walking out like a lifeless shell, lost in thought.
Chapter 5
The driver noticed something was wrong and hurried to approach her, but she stopped him before he could go in to tell Jonathan.
“You don’t need to take me. I want to walk by myself. And don’t tell Jonathan I came back.”
She sent the driver away, and then walked alone down an empty street.
Suddenly, a heavy rain began to pour, but it felt as if she didn’t even notice it.
The cold rain only made her feel more awake, more alert.
She didn’t know how long she had been walking
A long time, far longer than the night when she was seventeen and twisted her ankle in the heavy snow. Jonathan had carried her all the way home…
She realized then: True love can change in an instant.
