Chapter 12
“Anna, I haven’t signed the papers yet. Until I do we’re not divorced. We’re still married, and I will find you!”
Jonathan’s eyes darkened with determination as he spoke decisively.
He couldn’t let her
- go.
She was meant to be his, and he would admit his mistakes, but he would never accept Anna leaving him.
With unwavering resolve, Jonathan carefully tucked the divorce papers away.
Fortunately, he still had her photos on his phone which could comfort his longing for her.
He searched the entire house, hoping to find anything that reminded him of Anna.
But she had been cruel. She had destroyed everything in the house that was related to her.
Old clothes were either sold or thrown away.
Even the furniture had been completely.replaced.
And every other thing was gone without a trace.
At that moment, Isabella’s call came through.
“Jonathan, I saw an auction online for AYANNA. Mrs. Jonathan… she…”
“What did you say?”
Jonathan’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly Hung up the phone, cutting her off before she could say more.
“Daniel, check if AYANNA has been auctioned again. If it has, no matter the cost, buy it back
for me.”
A long while passed before Daniel called back, hesitating, unsure whether to speak.
“Well… Mr. Jonathan, AYANNA was bought by a collector overseas. We were too late…”
Crash-
The phone Jonathan had been holding slipped from his hand and crashed to the floor, the screen shattering instantly.
It was just a slight delay, so why had this happened?
AYANNA symbolized his feelings for her. She had sold it once–how could she bear to sell it
again?
Chapter 12
Did his love mean nothing to her?
His eyes dropped, filled with sadness and despair
Now even AYANNA belonged to someone else. What about her?
Would she belong to someone else too?
Jonathan could barely bring himself to consider that possibility.
From the moment he first saw Anna, he knew she was the one. He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.
He had imagined countless futures with her, all ending in happiness.
So how had it all fallen apart?
He hated himself, and he hated Isabella even more.
If it hadn’t been for Isabella, would everything have been different?
Jonathan stood alone in the empty house, surrounded by loneliness and despair.
He carefully retrieved a small cake from the trash can.
The cake, cold and stale, had long lost its original sweetness.
But he treasured it dearly, because it was her favorite.
She hadn’t even taken a bite.
Then, Jonathan suddenly found Anna’s SIM card in the trash.
He quickly cleaned it off and inserted it into his phone.
It was as though, by doing so, she was still with him, able to talk to him.
Just then, his phone lit up with a text from a familiar number.
“Anna, Jonathan loves me the most. Do you really think selling AYANNA will make him come back to you? You know, today we were still tangled up on this very bed!”
A photo of a messy bed appeared on Jonathan’s screen.
He was so furious, his vision blurred.
“So… it was you!”
Jonathan’s voice was cold and sharp, his aura so overwhelming it was almost suffocating.
He quickly typed a message:
“Isabella, I remember warning you that Anna couldn’t find out about you and me!”
