Chapter 21
With the motivation to keep going, this time Fabian didn’t need Mrs. Carnegie to pressure him. He proactively requested a full body check–up and obediently took his medicine and received intravenous fluids every day.
Fabian’s health gradually improved, but by the third day, he had already arranged for his discharge.
He had the workers work overtime to expand the greenhouse, and he had Assistant Daniel buy over a hundred pear trees to plant there.
Then, he brought in a skilled gardener who specialized in tree care to adjust the temperature, ensuring that these pear trees would bloom continuously during this time.
In addition to all this, Fabian also had a ring custom–made, planning to propose to Angelina again when she returned.
This time, he would never betray her again.
A week passed in the blink of an eye. Fabian had followed Mrs. Carnegie around all day, like a shadow, eagerly waiting for the moment when Angelina would call again.
He had already instructed Mrs. Carnegie to give Angelina the address where they would meet.
When Angelina heard the meeting location was in the suburbs, she didn’t show any signs of
resistance.
The next morning, Fabian had prepared himself early and went to the greenhouse in the suburbs to wait for Angelina’s arrival.
It wasn’t until after noon that he finally saw Angelina’s figure walking in.
“Angelina…”
Fabian couldn’t control the redness in his eyes. The scene that had appeared countless times in his dreams finally came true in the real world.
From the first step inside, Angelina noticed the carefully arranged setting.
It was midsummer, yet the pear trees were in full bloom, the ground scattered with fallen petals. The scene was both beautiful and dreamlike.
When she had agreed to Fabian’s proposal, it had been during the spring, when the blossoms were also in bloom.

But Angelina didn’t linger on these details for long. Instead, she turned her gaze to Fabian, who was staring at her intensely..
Although Angelina had already guessed some things from Mrs. Carnegie’s crying, seeing Fabian now still shocked her.
In just three months, Fabian had turned into this state–his thin, withered body barely able to hold up his suit.
If it weren’t for the light still shining in his eyes, Angelina might have thought that Fabian. was just a soulless, walking corpse.
Looking at him, no feeling of pity stirred in Angelina’s heart.
Angelina stopped about three meters away from Fabian, her voice cold.
“If you have something to say, say it quickly. But after today, I hope you’ll never interfere with my life again.”
A look of hurt flashed in Fabian’s eyes, but there was not the slightest hint of sympathy from Angelina.
“Angelina, I think about you every moment.
“I know you must hate me for betraying you, but I’ve changed. I’ve taken care of everything you didn’t like Natali and the baby she’s carrying I’ve already dealt with it. So, please come back to me.”
–
“I promise you, from now on, I’ll never betray you again. If I can’t keep that promise, let me live the rest of my life in loneliness.”
Every word Fabian said was sincere, but to Angelina, it sounded utterly ridiculous.
Before she had discovered the truth, Fabian had many opportunities to turn back, but he
hadn’t taken any of them.
“Fabian, if I hadn’t suddenly disappeared, would you have cut ties with Natali on your own?”
