Chapter7 

Johnny’s POV 

Lena had changed a lot in these five years. 

In fact, before Arabella had an accident, I had already fallen for her. 

But I didn’t expect her to be the one who 

hurt Arabella. 

I felt extremely terrified. 

But when Arabella woke up, the first thing she did was to look for Lena. At that moment, I knew I was completely wrong about the “truth“. 

When I heard Lena and Arabella’s 

conversation at the door of the ward, I 

knew I might lose Lena. 

I tried every means to make up for it, thinking that we could go back to the way we used to be. 

I made Connie pay a heavy price. 

When I began to deal with Connie, her parents kept pleading for her. 

They said, “Connie is still a girl. She felt a bit embarrassed after being taught a lesson by Arabella, so she made a mistake. It’s not her fault.” 

At this point, they still tried to shift the blame onto Lena. 

But I was firm and uncompromising, determined to make Connie pay the price. 

At first, Helga was resentful towards Connie because she hurt Arabella. 

But when Connie’s parents knelt and begged Helga for mercy, Helga wavered. 

Then, Helga even used the Byrne Group and her fostering to make me compromise. 

When Aleck found out about it, he was 

furious and immediately asked Helga to cut off ties with the Carman family. 

Helga naturally refused. But Aleck 

threatened divorce, which made Helga 

back down. 

Helga’s parents favored sons over daughters. If Helga hadn’t married into a good family, her mother wouldn’t have treated her well. 

Helga knew her position in the Carman family and naturally refused to go back. 

Since the Carman family had lost the 

support of the Byrne family, it was effortless for me to crush the Carman family. 

On the day I completely destroyed the Carman family, I was busy until late. 

My desire to see Lena grew stronger. 

I really wanted to tell her that I gave a harsh lesson to the main culprit who bullied her. I wanted her praise. 

But when I opened the door to the bathroom and saw her lying peacefully 

there, my heart almost stopped beating due to fear. 

I was also the one who bullied her, and we could never be together again. 

I regretted it. 

Lena had gone to Germany. 

I hadn’t seen her for a long time. 

Finally, I got Arabella’s permission. As long as Aleck, Helga, and I didn’t appear in front of Lena, it was fine. 

I could finally take a distant look at Lena. 

I came to a very distinctive restaurant according to the address Arabella gave me. 

And I saw Lena again. She sat in front of the dining table with a confused look. 

There were two people sitting beside Lena. One of them was Arabella. 

Looking at the other guy who was chatting happily with Lena, I felt very jealous. 

At this moment, I heard their conversation. 

“Hello, my name is Arabella.” 

When I heard Arabella say this, I was 

stunned. 

At this time, Lena said, “I have a very good sister named Arabella too.” 

I knew Lena was sick. 

But I didn’t expect that she would even forget Arabella. 

At this moment, I lost the courage to go forward. 

“How old is your sister?” Arabella asked. 

“26. She’s very capable, studying for a PhD,” Lena replied. 

Arabella could only hide her sadness with a 

smile. 

There were many customers in the restaurant, and Lena was busy taking 

orders. 

Arabella could only watch Lena busy in the restaurant from a distance. 

When the restaurant was quiet again, 

Arabella looked at Lena, hesitant to speak. 

In the end, she couldn’t help but ask Lena a question. 

“Do I look familiar to you?” 

Lena’s eyes flickered, and a trace of frustration flashed in her eyes. But then, her face changed. 

She murmured, “Well. 

“Yes. Very familiar. Let me think.” 

“Lena, I am your sister.” 

Lena finally remembered that this gentle 

and kind girl in front of her was her beloved sister, Arabella. 

Tears shimmered in Arabella’s eyes, and I understood her helplessness. 

When Helga heard this conversation, she forgot Arabella’s reminder and walked up 

to Lena. 

Arabella noticed Helga’s action and hurriedly asked Lena to go and serve the 

customers. 

This was also the first time I heard Arabella’s angry voice. 

“I told you. You can come if you want, but don’t appear in front of her.” 

From Arabella’s words, I knew that Lena’s condition had been maintained at the mid- 

stage symptoms. No further deterioration. 

Lena would just occasionally forget things. 

Knowing this, I felt relieved. 

Then, I raised my hand, wanting to pull Aleck and Helga away from Lena’s sight. 

But Helga didn’t understand it. She just thought Arabella was making a fuss. She didn’t understand why Arabella insisted on bringing Lena to live in Germany and didn’t go back home. 

At the moment when Helga saw Lena turning around, she shouted at her frantically. 

“Lena, don’t be so cowardly. It’s just a minor illness. But because of you, your sister doesn’t even have the chance to come home.” 

I was so shocked that I couldn’t help but want to cover Helga’s mouth, but Aleck moved faster than me and took Helga away. 

Lena turned around and looked at me as if she was looking at a stranger. I knew that she couldn’t recognize me now. 

Under Arabella’s disapproving gaze, I still took the initiative to greet Lena, trying to evoke her memories. 

But it ended in failure. 

Lena thought I was a customer here to eat, so she warmly greeted me, asking me to have a seat and order. 

After finding a way to get along with Lena, I often came here. 

However, Lena would never remember me. 

I was just a passerby in her life.
