Melody, knowing that she didn’t have the medical expertise of a doctor, had no right to interfere with Jeremy’s work. It she simply focused on her duties as a nurse, that was, in its own way, a form of support.

She immediately returned to the mirse’s station and threw herself into work. There was no such thing as downtime for a nurse. Though her cold had subsided, le stomach remained unsettled, and her complexion appeared pallid.

you take a break and grab something to eat, Mel?” Melody gently shook her head, replying, “I can’t really do that right now. I have a patient who just pressed the call button, and I have IV fluids to change and Infections to administer.”
was then that one of the nurses, Natalie Clarke, chimed in, exclaiming, “I can’t believe how demanding the neurosurgery department is! It was a walk in the park back when I was still in the proctology department. Heel like I need eight hands just to keep up with everything here. If I could, I’d switch departments in a heartbeat even the neurology department would be better than this.”
Cameron rolled her eyes, commenting, “You only think that the proctology department is easy because there weren’t many patients back then. You ought to know that every department is drowning in work. You should consider yourself lucky that you’re not in the pediatrics or obstetrics and gynecology department, where you have to deal with both the patients and their families”
Natalie suddenly turned to Melody, asking. “You’re truly something else, Mel. You were always at the top of the class back then, and now you’re still the hardest- worlding one here. It’s as if you never get exhausted. is being a nurse your lifelong dream, Mel? Is it possible that you’re trying to become some kind of guardian angel?”
Melody’s lashes fluttered as she remained silent, thinking about her dream
Cameron added, “You know Mel takes her job seriously, so maybe it’s time for you to do the same. You see, the head nurse is probably retiring in a couple of years.” It was then that someone suddenly said, “I’m sure it’s going to be Mel, then.”
Melody, however, immediately furrowed her brow and explained, “That’s impossible. I haven’t been here that long, and I still have a lot to leam.”
She had no desire to continue the discussion with them. Having prepared the medication for the patients, she was about to leave when someone suddenly knocked on the reception desk
Krystal, with a blank expression, stated, “There’s a patient in bed 11 who’ll require an additional IV infusion at 12:30 am sharp. If you have time to chat, you should use it to prepare all the things needed instead.”
Having said that, she turned to look at Melody Indifferently and asked, “Do you want to be head nurse?”
Melody hesitated briefly before replying, “No, I haven’t really thought about it.”
Nodding, Krystal added, “It’s fine if that’s the case, then. I mean, it’s clear that you’re not even qualitied for that role yet.”
At that, she turned and left, appearing completely indifferent.
Melody lowered her gaze momentarily before raising her gaze again, only to find jeremy and Caleb coming toward her.
Caleb grinned at Jeremy, saying, “I told you it’s better to talk things out. I mean, you and Dr. Finnigan have fundamentally similar ideas, just different approaches. You two remind me of a classic rivalry–fiercely competitive, yet moving forward in tandem.”
Jeremy’s Lace remained expressionless, though he seemed a bit more relaxed. “You she talkalot.”
Caleb shrugged indifferently before asking, “What were you up to yesterday then? It’s rare for you to take a day off.”
They had just walled past the nurse’s station, where Melody happened to be standing, when Caleb posed this question.

Though he had noticed Melody, Jenny’s expression remained unchanged. He then replied calmly, “I ran into some trouble railler. It tooku was a bit complicated.”
Caleb clicked his tongue and said,
