Melody was momentarily stunned, her thoughts lagging as she struggled to understand what Jeremy was implying
In the confined space of the car, his voice was unusually deep as he said indifferently, “You should tell me beforehand if you have a cold next time. I don’t want to go through the trouble of disinfecting my car again.”
It suddenly dawned on Melody that Jeremy was bothered by her contaminating his car. Her fingers instinctively gripped her clothes as she whispered, “I wasn’t sick eabertoday. I might have gotten the cold due to the air conditioning at the hospital.”
She had most likely contracted the cold due to the hospital’s central air conditioning, coupled with the fact that she had been running around all day and had been
constantly in an anxious state.
“Get out,” Jeremy said, his response remaining as terse as ever.

Melody hesitated briefly before gritting her teeth and getting out of the car. Her head spun the instant she stood up, though. Her legs then gave way, ali sending her sprawling.
It was then that the sound of the driver’s side door slamming echoed, and Jeremy got out of the car, glanced at Melody briefly, then tumed and walked swiftly toward the elevator.
Melody trailed jeremy, her discomfort making her movements sluggish. She observed Jeremy enter the elevator from afar, and although she expected him to wait, the elevator doors eventually closed.

She had just gotten to the elevator when she noticed it had already ascended to the second floor. She gazed at the illuminated floor indicator at the top elevator entrance inconfusion, not knowing what she had done to make Jeremy upset again.
Upon returning to their apartment, Melody realized that Jeremy had already gone into the shower, she then realized he was avoiding her because of her cold, afraid of getting sick
She hesitated momentarily before immediately dismissing the idea of malang him a late–night snack, thinking he wouldn’t eat anything she touched. He would only see her as a source of contamination anyway. Thus, she decided against making him anything, not wanting to waste any food.
She then took some cold medicine that she had found in the living room and prepared to head to bed. Her stomach, however, began to bother her. Having a pre- existing stomach condition and having spent the day without any water, her discomfort became excruciating
Though she had been able to endure it earlier as she was constantly moving about, she experienced a profound loss of energy and felt exceedingly weak the moment she sat down
Jeremy walked out of the room, having already changed into a set of clean clothes. His hair was still wet, indicating that he was getting ready to leave for the hospital right away.
Melody’s voice was hoarse as she called after him, saying, “Jeremy.”
Her voice was raspy and weak as she hesitated before continuing, “Could you grab me some antacids from the pharmacy downstairs? And if it’s not too much of a hassle, could you also grab me a bowl of soup from the convenience store as well? I’m feeling quite unwell from my stomachache. It’ll just take a few minutes of your time.”
There were eateries, convenience stores, and a pharmacy on the apartment building’s first floor, all of which operated around the clock. Thus, going downstairs to purchase what they needed was far quicker than getting delivery.
She was worried that Jeremy wouldn’t believe her, so she quickly added, “There’s no autacid left at home.”
Melody’s skin was naturally fair and usually had a healthy glow to it. It now carried a sickdy parlor, though.
Jeremy’s body was still slightly damp from his shower when he lowered his gaze to Melody. His eyes were devoid of any emotions, with only the faintest furrow in his brow. It was then that his phone suddenly rang–it was a call from the hospital.
Things had been quite hectic at the hospital lately, and they had been urging him to go back since the attemoon. He had to postpone his retum, though, since the children were still getting their checkups.
His gaze studied away from Melody as he said flatly, “You can order takeout yourself. I don’t have time for this.”
Having said that, he answered the call and turned to leave.
In the end, Melody was the only one left at home. Her stomach fluobbed with a dull pain, and the fatigue of the entire day bore down on her, leaving her utterly drained. She leaned against the amicluir, intending to take just a short brak, but before she knew it, she fell asleep in a daze.
Jetery went downstales, leaving behind the car he had driven earlier. He had already arranged for someone to have it cleaned the following day
