Chapter 50
Melody’s breath hitched, but she didn’t say anything
After conlaming that Harold bad placed the medication order, she turned and left.
This wasn’t the first time she had heard Jeremy say she wasn’t fit to work at the hospital
She stepped out of the office and exhaled a slow, heavy breath.
She wasn’t going to argue with him. After all, debating and proving herself with words had never been her strong suit.
She just needed to do her job well. That would be proot enough
It didn’t take long for the whole department to notice the tension between Melody and Jeremy.
Tiffany caught a moment alone with Melody and asloed in a lushed voice, “What’s going on with you and Dr. Chesson?”
Melody was changing into her under as she replied, “Nothing”
Η
“Yeah, right. “Tiffany knowingly looked at her. “You used to jump at the chance to ask Dr. Chesson if he needed anything whenever he came to the nurse’s station, but you’ve been going out of your way to avoid him lately
Melody said, “I’m working in the ICU now. I’ve been busy and haven’t been at the nurse’s station.”
“What about lunch then?” Tiffany pressed, “You don’t even eat with us anymore. You didn’t eat at all when you ran into Dr. Franklin and Dr. Chesson that day.” Melody pressed her lips together and stayed quiet.
She had been avoiding Jeremy on purpose. It wasn’t that she had no temper and could let him mock her without pushing back
Maybe she had been in the wrong in the past, which was why she was willing to swallow her pride and apologize. But this time, she didn’t believe she had done anything wrong.
Tiffany saw her lower her head in silence and added, “Honestly, it’s good to see you standing Dr. Chesson’s personality isn’t something most people can tolerate.”
Melody whispered “Enough, it’s almost time for our rounds.”
Tittam talked as if enemy actually cared about her.
your ground. We’ve all been watching and getting frustrated for you.
Melody had the weekend off, and Felicia took the chance to bring her to meet her friend.
Felicia frowned when she picked her up at the hotel, “Did Jeremy kick you out?”
Melody was silent for a moment before saying, “I was a mess that day. He’s a germaphobe. It probably made him really uncomfortable.”
Some people’s cleanliness obsession bordered on compulsiveness, and Jeremy was one of them.
When Melody studied psychology, her professor mentioned that extreme cases like Jeremy’s were usually triggered by real–life experiences.
Melody didn’t know what had caused Jeremy to be this way, so she had always tried to be mindful of his boundaries.
Felicia was unduppy, but she let it go. Then, she drove Melody straight to her friend’s photography studio.
She excitedly said, “My friend is amazing. She’s super young, but she’s already one of the top temple photographers in the industry. So many people would kill for this part–time gig
“You get to Lake gorgeous pictures and make money at the same time what’s not to love?”
Melody was a little nervous. “Let’s meet her last. What it she thinks I’m not a good fit?!
Felicia’s friend was a young woman, she was dressed in a white T–shirt and cargo pants and had short hair that made her lookettotlessly cool.
Melody took one look at her and thought she looked like a real artist.
“Alexis, this is Melody, the person I told you about,” Pelicia introduced
The short–haired woman looked over at Melody who smiled and was about to greet heu,
