Chapter 34
Melody had only one wish left ever since cheryl passed away, but she hadn’t written down her wish for this year yet.
She took out a pen and a small slip of paper.
She hesitated for a moment before writing, but eventually, she carefully penned it down.
“I hope jeremy stays safe and happy. I hope I can hear again.”
As soon as she finished writing, Melody pressed her lips together with slightly furrowed brows
Was she being too greedy asking for two things?
She lifted her pen again and struck out the second line and added, “I cnh have one wish.”
She didn’t dare to ask for too much, clinging to the hope that sincerity would be enough to fulfill her wish.
Melody didn’t sleep at all that night. By the time she got up the next morning, her head was spinning.
Fortunately, she didn’t have to go to the hospital today.
relida had texted her early in the morning to check in.
“Are you feeling any better today?”
Melody answered truthfully and said that she still couldn’t hear.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay alone at home? Should I come pick you up? At least my house has a housekeeper who can look after you.”
“It’s fine. I’ll just stay home today. I won’t go out,” Melody replied.
Felicia asked, “What about Jeremy? You two live together, and he knows about your condition. Shouldn’t be at least do something?”
Felicia had been Melody’s best friend for years. Their families had business ties too, so Telicia knew everything about Melody, especially the fact that she lived with Jeremy.
Melody simply replied, “He’s on shift today. He’s busy ”
Then, she put her phone down.
knew Felicia didn’t like Jeremy,
Actually, one of her friends dic
Felidawana fan, and neither was Jason.
That was why Melody rarely brought Jeremy up around them.
Still, shur hadn’t expected that Jeremy would actually be home when she stepped out of her room.
He was sitting on the soda, long legs crossed, and casually flipping through a book
He looked up at her after hearing her footsteps.
Melody froze for a moment before instinctively sending him a message.
‘Aren’t you going to the hospital today?”
Jeremy calmly set his book down. “I’m taking you to get your ears checked.”
Melody was stunned. It wasn’t often that Jeremy showed concern for her.
Her eyes brightened as she pressed her lips together.
Lucidly, she hadn’t been greedy and wished for two things yesterday.
However, she had misunderstood Jeremy’s intentions.
Jeremy drove straight to a note owned medical center specializing in this field, where Andow and Laura were already waiting.
Andrew greeted Jeremy as soon as they arrived and said, “We really appreciate you going out of your way to arrange a specialist for Mel.”
Jeremy responded, “It’s no trouble. Sth and I were classmates.”
Andrew glanced at Melody, “Still no improvement?
Melody saw them mentioning her name and instinctively tensed up, her fingers twisting together unconsciously
Andrew and Laura arhanged looks. Then, Andrew sighed and said, “We never expected this to happen. I spoke to Simon yesterday, and he said the chances of Mel’s Dearing recovering are very slim.
“I discussed it with Laura last night. If there’s no hope of recovery, we won’t let Mel continue working at the hospital. It’ll only be more trouble if something goes wrong
Laura coldly said, “Do we really place.
‘need to wait until she’s completely dear to make that decision? If you aske, she was never suited for hospital work in the first
“She can’t hear, she’s clundy, and let’s not forget that this is a hospital. It’s a place for saving lives, not for her to play around in.”
She shot Melody a sharp look. “Besides, Tessa’s issue hasn’t been resolved yet. She swears she had nothing to do with it, but why is it that Tessa suspects her and no one else?
