Chapter 51
Leon fell silent for a moment. “I haven’t thought that far ahead. I’ll see how things go.”
Julian let out a sigh. “Honestly, I still think this decision was way too impulsive.”
Leon didn’t respond to that. Instead, he said, “She’s been gone for a while. I’m going to check on her.”
just as he stood up and headed toward the door, the private room door opened, and Kelly entered.
“Is everything okay?” Leon asked gently.
Kelly’s expression was calm as she gave him a faint smile. “Yeah, it’s fine. There was a queue for the restroom.”
“We’re all done eating Let’s head out,” Julian remarked casually.
Then, he turned to Kelly. “Are you full?”
Kelly gave him a polite nod. “Yes, thank you.”
After settling the bill, they left the restaurant, and Julian waved them off. “My car’s in the parking lot outside, so I won’t go with you two. Take care of yourself. Kelly. Hope you give birth to a healthy baby soon. See you!”
Kelly smiled shyly. “See you.”
After seeing julian off, Leon looked at Kelly. “Let’s go.”
Kelly followed him, thinking they were heading to the parking lot, but to her surprise, he led her to the second floor.
When he took her into a cosmetics store, Kelly was slightly confused.
Leonexplained, “Someone at your age definitely wants to look good. I looked it up while we were eating just now. This store is pretty good.”
Kelly immediately shook her head. “I don’t need any, and besides, I’m pregnant. So, I can’t use any of this.”
“I’ve checked through. They have products that are safe for pregnant women just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you should give up on looking good.”
Kelly was touched by how Leon remembered something she had casually mentioned earlier that afternoon. But then, her thoughts drifted back to his conversation with Julian
He did all this only because of responsibility. He was doing too much.
As she was lost in thought, Leon had already turned to the staff and said, “We’re looking for a set of cosmetics suitable for pregnant women. I’m not familiar with these, so could you recommend something?”
Histone was warm and polite, and the sales assistant immediately began showing them suitable products. Although Leon didn’t know much about cosmetics, he Listened attentively.
Then, he tumed to Kelly:
rand asked softly, “What do you think?
Kelly, who had to juggle studying and part–time work, didn’t have much time to learn about which cosmetics were good. The ones piled up at home were recommended by Melissa, and they were good and affordable…
“i rarely wear makeup,” Kelly replied, wanting to convince him to drop the idea.
“It’s line if you don’t want to wear it, but you can’t not have it, Leon stated.
In the end, Leon decisively close a set of cosmetics.
Pregnancy–safe cosmetics were pricey, and Kelly felt a sting in her heart when she saw the total bill she wanted to pay for them herself, but her budget simply wouldn’t allow her to do so.
That night, Kelly lay in bed and stared at the new cosmetics on the vanity. She couldn’t fall asleep.
The next day was still the weekend. Kelly remembered her promise from the day before and woke up early to make breakfast. To her surprise, Leon was already in the kitchen with breakfast prepared.
She was rendered speechless. He was even good at preparing breakfast.
After breakfast, she went back to studying. Meanwhile, Leon seemed immersed in work as he was gloed to his computer the whole day.
On Monday morning, they both headed to school together again. As soon as Leonparked the car, he tried to remind Kelly of something, but she quickly got out of the car. “Goodbye, Leon”
Leon hadn’t even had a chance to grab something from his pocket. Watching heretreating tigum, he fell into a brief moment of contemplation
He was unsure if he had gotten things wrong, but since the dinner on Saturday night, she had started acting strangely and seemed to be avoiding him. Furrowing his brows slightly, Leon opened the car dour and stepped out.
