“str. Yale, do you want to give me your basket as well?” Demi asked after hearing Wendy complain about how tired she was. She proceeded to tum around and
reached her hand out to Wendy.
“It’s alright Wendy said as she quickly waved her hands.
Demi had already carried one load up the mountains, and she was still carrying another load on her back Wendy did not have it in her to trouble Demi for help
“You’re right. Demi, why don’t you give me my basket and help Mrs. Yale carry hers for some time,” Maria chimed in perceptively.
She hoped that Demi would be able to get along with everyone, so that life would be much easier for her in the future.
Demi shook her head and turned to Wendy. “It’s alright, Mrs. Yale, you can just give me your basket. I’m strong, so it doesn’t matter if I carry one load or two. I’ll be making the same trip anyway.”
The comments started to come in once again.
