Chapter 16
Jordan was rendered speechless. After a while, he finally found something to say in retort. “I’m not serious about Jessica. What about your feelings for Damien? What right do you have to talk about me like this? You’ve already slept with him, haven’t you?”
“Even if I have… What is it to you?” I sneered. My gaze dulled as I looked at him. “The old me died the moment you pushed me into the ocean. Everything that’s happened after that has nothing to do with you.”
Jordan’s heart twisted painfully at the sight of my iciness. He grabbed my hand again, still trying to make excuses for himself. “I don’t want to break up. I can dump Jessica–I don’t love her, anyway! You’re the one I love.”
Our three–year relationship had taken root in his heart. He still believed I would continue loving him, no matter what.
I wanted to break free, but he held my hand too tightly this time.
Dad stormed over to us when he saw this and pulled me behind him. Then, he slapped Jordan. “You’re disgusting, you asshole! Come near my daughter again, and I’ll break your legs!” He pulled me away.
Jordan wanted to come after us, but a phone call made him stop. He answered it to hear Adam roar, “I can’t believe you can’t even deal with something so simple, you imbecile! I’ll no longer acknowledge you as my son from now on. You can rot out there for all I care!”
He hung up without giving Jordan the chance to say anything.
Jordan stood there, feeling like a bucket of ice–cold water had been poured over him, chilling him to the bone. He’d lost Seraphine, and even his father didn’t want him anymore.
He returned to the villa he’d bought Jessica, feeling downtrodden. However, he saw her packing her things. He stopped her with a frown. “What are you doing? Where are you going?”
“I’m not going anywhere—you’re the one who’s leaving! This is my house!” She dropped her usual gentle and considerate act, shaking him off coldly.
Jordan looked down to see that she was packing his things, not hers. He couldn’t believe she would suddenly become so cruel when she’d always been so innocent and kind. He held her hand and asked in disbelief, “What do you mean by this, Jessica?”
“What do I mean? You’ve ruined my reputation and gotten me expelled–what do you think I mean by this? You’re broke now, anyway. That means I don’t need to put on an act around you anymore. Get the hell out of my house this instant!” She pointed at the door frostily.
He was stunned. He couldn’t believe this. “Didn’t you say that you loved me?”
“Love? How much is that worth? Seraphine loved you, yet you still pushed her into the ocean. I heard she’s scared of water and can’t swim–she’s lucky enough that she’s still alive! I’m not as dumb as she is!” Jessica sneered.
Jordan couldn’t believe she was the Jessica he knew when he saw the twisted look on her face. Then, he snapped to his senses and grabbed her by the neck. “How dare you lie to me!” Just as she was about to suffocate, a man charged into the villa and shoved Jordan aside, roaring, “Don’t touch her!”
Jordan broke down when he saw them holding each other intimately. He knew this man–the son of a property mogul and his brother’s classmate. They were good friends, too. He hadn’t expected Jessica to have already found an alternative.
“I’ll kill you!” He saw red after receiving so many blows and charged forward to punch the man. However, he ended up being pinned to the ground.
The man had brought bodyguards with him. They gave Jordan a beating before throwing him out of the villa. His brother even texted him to provoke him, saying that he would take back everything Jordan had given Jessica, including the villa. He would also make sure to take over for Jordan.
Jordan was about to go crazy. He realized that he still needed a place to stay, so he called all his friends. However, none of them answered, including Jason. Jordan had lost everything.
