Chapter 13
“Don’t do something you’ll regret, Seraphine!” Jordan shouted from outside the door.
I didn’t say anything else.

Jordan didn’t stay for long before returning to Jessica’s villa. As soon as he entered, he kicked a table, overturning it. It caused a ruckus, startling Jessica, who had a mask on in the bedroom. She hurried out to see him seated on the couch, looking irritated. She asked cautiously, “What’s wrong?”
“Seraphine said she’s marrying Damien Stone, but I’m the one she should be marrying! Do you think she’ll ever remember me?” His heart throbbed painfully at the thought of the disgusted look Seraphine had given him earlier. She’d never treated him like that before!
Jessica frowned at his words. Still, she suppressed her displeasure and said, “Of course she will. The doctor said it would happen, right? I think Seraphine looks pretty happy with Damien, though. A classmate said she saw them at the amusement park, looking like an actual couple.”
Jordan suddenly thought of Seraphine’s latest social media update. He pulled out his phone and looked at her account. Every post had to do with Damien, and there were photos of them together everywhere. They smiled happily, looking like a real couple.
He couldn’t stop his hands from trembling He’d been so busy pursuing Jessica lately that he had no idea Seraphine and Damien had grown so affectionate with each other. Seraphine had been like this when they’d first started dating. She would share photos of him on her social media and call him daily. Even if she didn’t, she would text him. But now… he hadn’t received any calls or texts from her for a long time. It was as if he’d disappeared from her world.
The feeling that he’d lost something important stabbed him in the heart.
The following morning, Jordan waited for me outside Stone Corporation’s building, I saw him as I got out of Damien’s car. Damien saw him, too. But I didn’t spare him a glance as I held Damien’s hand and entered the building with a smile.
Jordan didn’t come running, but he did follow us.
That night, he couldn’t take it anymore. He ran to Damien and me, his eyes reddened as he showed me photos of him and me. I was smiling brightly in the pictures.
He pointed at me, growling, “Take a good look at this, Seraphine–I’m your boyfriend! How can you laugh and chat with another man? How can you do this to me?” Damien froze and tightened his hold on my hand.
Jordan kept showing me photos of him and me, trying to make me remember anything, I merely looked at him stoically.
“Mr. Fray, I hate to break it to you, but we won’t be a couple even if you edit photos of us together. Damien is the only man I remember. He’s the only one I consider my boyfriend,” I said indifferently. Then, I pulled Damien away.
Jordan’s eyes turned bloodshot as he watched us leave. He couldn’t accept this. He wouldn’t accept this!
He drove to the hospital and grabbed my attending doctor by the collar, snarling, “Didn’t you say Seraphine would remember me within three months? Why does she still not recognize me?” The doctor was frightened by his ferocity. He explained, “Based on my experience, three months is indeed the longest a patient has gone without remembering anything. If that’s still the case now, it may be that Ms. York’s situation is more unique. She might need more time.”
“How much longer?” Jordan roared.
“Calm down, Mr. Fray,” the doctor said.
“Calm down? How do you expect me to calm down? My girlfriend is about to marry someone else, and you’re telling me to calm down?” Jordan bellowed.
