Chapter 6
Justin didn’t lose his temper. He just looked at her with a cold smile. By the time his laughter faded, his eyes were slightly red.
He flung her hand away and never looked back.

A few days later, Justin had to go to a mountain resort for business.
Norah wouldn’t have known about it. After all, he never reported his whereabouts to her. It was only when she overheard the maids whispering that she found out.
“I heard that Mr. Johnson went to Mount Snow for business, but on his way down, he got caught in an avalanche. There’s been no news of him since!”
“Really? What are they going to do? I heard the snowfall at Mount Snow is particularly heavy this year. If there was an avalanche… I’m afraid things aren’t looking too good!”
“It’s true. I only found out when Ms. Jones was on the phone with Mr. Johnson’s assistant. They’ve already sent out a search team, but it’s still snowing heavily up there. Even the rescue teams don’t dare to go up the mountain. No one knows if he can even be found!”
Norah’s body stiffened involuntarily as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her head.
With trembling hands, she unlocked her phone. Sure enough, the top news headline was about a massive avalanche at Mount Snow.
“Johnson Group’s CEO’s Whereabouts Unknown!”
She had never been this afraid before. Her phone slipped from her numb fingers and crashed onto the floor.
Her face instantly turned deathly pale as a thousand terrifying images flashed through her mind.
No. Justin had to be unharmed.
Norah jumped up, grabbed her coat and scarf, and dashed out of the villa.
By the time she reached the foot of Mount Snow, all the rescue teams were stranded due to the raging blizzard. No one dared to go up.
Without hesitation, she rushed to the crowd, grabbed a snowmobile, and prepared to start the engine.
Someone tried to stop her. “Are you out of your mind? The visibility is too low because of the heavy storm. Even if you go up, you won’t be able to save him. You’ll only end up losing your own life! We can only wait until the storm calms before heading up the mountain.”
Norah gritted her teeth and shoved the person aside. “Stay out of my way! I will bring him down.”
Before anyone could react, she revved the engine and sped off into the storm.
The blizzard on the mountain was even worse than at the base. Even though she was wrapped in thick snow gear, the icy wind still made her shiver uncontrollably.
There was nothing but endless white everywhere she looked. Finding Justin was like searching for a needle in a haystack. Still, she kept shouting his name over and over again.
“Justin!
“Justin! Where are you?”
The wind and snow swallowed her voice. Her throat was hoarse from shouting, yet she refused to stop calling his name.
An hour later, she finally saw Justin under a tree. Like a madwoman, she rushed forward, tearing off her hat and scarf to wrap them around him.
By then, he had already lost consciousness, his cheeks as cold as ice.
Norah sobbed as she dragged him toward her vehicle. “Justin, you’re going to be okay. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
A hidden branch beneath the snow stabbed into Norah’s leg on her way down. However, she barely felt the pain. The only thought she had was to get Justin safely down the mountain. The vehicle plowed through the blizzard for three whole hours before finally reaching the base.
When the rescue team spotted them, they rushed forward in shock. None of them had expected a woman like Norah to have the courage and strength to find Justin and bring him down in such brutal weather.
At the sight of the approaching crowd, Norah turned to glance at Justin one last time–only then did she finally allow herself to faint.
She must have been unconscious for some time. When she finally woke up, Justin was already gone.
After a brief moment to collect herself, she completed the discharge paperwork and left the hospital. It was only when she arrived home that she realized that Selena had already brought Justin back.
Somehow, Selena had become the person who had braved the storm alone to save Justin.
Seeing him safe and sound, Norah had nothing more to say. She simply turned and walked upstairs.
Behind her, Justin–seeing her complete indifference–coldly called out, “Norah, are you really this heartless?”
Her figure trembled slightly, but she didn’t say a word and continued up the stairs.
There was nothing left for her to explain. Justin should just keep hating her.
