Chapter 9
juliet stared at the news report about Fiona’s fatal car accident, her body trembling with rage She raised her hand to strike iris, but Norman caught her wrist.
“What’s wrong with you? if you don’t like the haute couture gown Ris gave you, you don’t have to wear it. Why are you hitting her? You’re completely out of line!” he snapped.
Juliet’s chest heaved as she struggled to hold back the hatred burning inside her.
Through clenched teeth, she spat, “Just you wait, trish”
The concert hall buzzed with excitement, Jullet smoothed her dress and turned to Seth, who stood at the edge of the crowd.
“Goodbye, Seth,” she said.
“Goodbye be waiting for you to come back,” Seth replied.
She lifted the hem of her gown and prepared to step onto the stage.
Just then, Norman called out to her. “When you come back after your rebirth, I’ll take you to the mall. You can pick out any bracelet you like.”
Julist looked down at Norman, who stood there with a grave expression. She said flatly, “Don’t forget to bury the divorce decree with me, Norman. Let me rest in peace.”
Norman dismissed her words. “Stop saying things that in a fit of anger. Once this whole mess with the serial killer is over, I’ll find another place for Iris to live. She won’t stay in our house anymore.”
“Goodbye, Nonin “Jullet said.
With that, she walked onto the stage.
Norman watched as she was enveloped by the light. A sudden, foreboding sense that she might never return washed over him.
But just as quickly, he pushed down the unease rising in his chest and murmured to himself, “palet is immortal. She’ll come back.”
When she returned, he would put in the effort to make things right between them. Surely, she would calm down and let go of all this talk about divorce,
The concert had barely begun when the lights in the hall suddenly went out. Fans rose from their seats, whispering and murmuring. The atmosphere quickly descended into chaos.
Norman’s expression shifted as he rushed onto the stage, only to find that fullet had vanished from the center of it.
He picked up a bloodstained crown lying on the ground, his voice low and commanding “Lock down the venue! Search for anyone suspicious!!!
If he could catch the serial killer, he could eliminate the threat to Iris once and for all, and Juliet wouldn’t have to die.
When juliet woke up, she found herself tied to a platform, surrounded by white candles and a black um covered in talismans. The whole scene looked like it belonged in some dark, twisted ritual
*jellet, what do you think of the little surprise I set up for you?” Its asked as she stepped closer, her laugh sharp and piercing
“Pretty soon, you’ll be ripped apart and sealed inside that urn. Once that happens, your inunortality will be gone, and you’ll die for good. I can’t wait to see it happen!”
juliet’s eyes widened as she noted the figure in black lurking beland Iris. A wave of shock and anger surged through her.
“You’re working with the serial killer? You killed six women just to take my leche demanded
Iris smirked. “Oh, no, only you are dying. Those six women are alive. I’ve been keeping them hidden all this time. I made sure the media played up the serial killer’s brutality to get Norman Morried about me and force you into taking my place
“And, well, you saw how it turned out. He loves me so much he didn’t link twice about throwing you into danger, leaving you to be tortured and killed by the serial killer.”
Juliet’s voice was thick with hated. “You’d to the core! What goes around comes around, and one day, the world will see exactly who you really are!”
Iris lips curled into mug grin. “Give up, Jullet. That recording you handed over to Flona? It’s gone. There’s no one left to help you spill the truth.
“And since you feel pain on times worse than the average person, I’ve made special arrangements. Someone’s going to take their the skinning you for three days. Consider it your taste of living hell. Now, muye!”
“Yes, Ms. Roth.”
A figure dressed in black stepped forward, raised his axe, and brought it down, severing pullet’s right arms.
juliet trembled violently as was of agony rippled through her.
She locked her eyes on Iris‘ retreating figure and moord every last bit of strength, crying out, “You won’t get away with this, tris!”
In the darkness, the system’s voice rang out in her mind. “Juliet, your request for mentality has been granted. Your Immortality is hereby revoked.”
