Clam
Chapter 10
Norman had his men stationed at the concert venue, carefully screening every person in attendance that night. The process dragged on for three long hours, but not a single
suspicious individual was found.
Edgar Ferguson, the head of criminal investigations, urged Norman to head home and wait for further updates.
Norman’s brow furrowed as he stared intently at the bloodstained crown on the table.
“Captain Ferguson, there’s a good chance the serial killer’s fingerprints are on this crown, I need your team to prioritize the analysis and get me the results as quickly as possible. I’ll have my people collaborate with yours to track down the suspect. We have to find the victim before it’s too late!”
“I understand where you’re coming from, Mr. Walsh,” Edgar replied. “But this serial killer is an expert at staying under the radar. Finding him might be next to impossible.” Norman’s frown deepened.
Even if juliet would come back to lite three days after her death, it didn’t change the fact that she’d still suffer the killer’s brutal savagery. She’d just endured the nightmare of Lenny’s death, and now she’d been left to face this monster all alone.
A sharp ache tore through Norman’s chest
Juliet’s voice seemed to echo in his mind. “Goodbye, Norman. Don’t forget to bury the divorce decree with me. Let me rest in peace.“”
Her voice had been firm, yet thick with emotion, as though she were uttering her final farewell
“No, Juliet will come back. I’ll have plenty of chances to make it up to her!” Norman muttered, trying to push down the fear rising in his chest “Jerome, cancel all my business trips for the next week. I need to clear my schedule for Juliet.”
Based on experience, Jet would call him the moment she returned to life. He would ask her what she wanted to eat, then prepare her a feast.
The last time she’d died–sacrificing herself to save him in a car accident–and come back to life, he’d been away on a business trip in Elmaria. It had taken him a full week to make it back home.
When he’d finally seen jubet, she’d looked pale and frail as if the ordeal had drained her completely. Even though she could return to life, it seemed the pain and suffering would linger in her body
This time, Norman wanted to be there the instant et called. He would bring her home and care for her the way she deserved,
He was absolutely sure her anger wouldn’t last more than two days. After all, she loved him with all her heart. She could never stay mad at him for long.
Norman returned home, where Seth greeted him with a somber expression. “I heard the serial killer took juliet. That means she successfully impersonated Ris, right? The killer didn’t see through her disguise. Have the police found any leads to track him down?”
Non glanced at his phone, his face falling as he read a new message. “No. The crown Juliet left at the crime scene didn’t have the killer’s fingerprints. Right now, all we can do is wait The killer will announce his next target at midnight tonight”
Seth sighed. “This serial killer is too sharp. Even with the police bringing in forensic experts, they haven’t found a single clue. But at least Juliet managed to trick him. Ris is safe
for now”
Despite Seth’s words, Norman found no comfort. If anything, a heavy pressure began to settle in his chest.
*Mr. Walsh, the virtual meeting is about to start,” someone chimed in
Norman sank into the couch and opened his laptop. As the executives droned on with their updates, he absentmindedly scrolled through his phone, repeatedly refreshing Facebook for any news about the serial killer.
Suddenly, his eyes widened. A new post from the serial killer was staring back at him from the screen!
