It was as though a bolt of lightning had struck Albert on the spot, judging from the way he remained rooted to the spot in a shell–shocked state.
His voice quivered. “So, you haven’t forgotten about Leon this whole time? You came here just to look for a replacement for him?”
While Melanie’s eyes were instantly haunted by a mixture of emotions, she remained calm. “It’s not that I haven’t forgotten about him–it’s just that I’ve never forgotten about him.”

Melanie could only look at Albert with mixed feelings dancing in her eyes. She said quietly, “You should go home. 1 will never remarry you. Life is perfect for me right now–I’ll be able to live a good life with Leon’s carbon copy keeping me company.”

Melanie was silent for a moment before nodding. “Probably.”
A mixture of emotions overwhelmed Albert at that moment. One moment he felt rage coursing through his veins; the next moment he was engulfed by despair. He couldn’t bear the thought of Melanie belonging to another man permanently.
Finally, he echoed hoarsely, “What if I go under the knife and shape my lools to fit your palate more?”
His question caught Melanie off guard. The shock was palpable on her face.
