Chapter 20
In that instant, Caleb displayed a level of humility he had never shown before, having never pleaded in such a way when he was still with Christine.
Sophia’s gaze remained calm, devoid of any emotion. She looked up and happened to see a group of men playing football nearby. Their play was fervent, and the football inadvertently struck the window of a nearby classroom. It caused the window to shatter, scattering shards across the ground. Those nearby immediately gasped and screamed, a wave of startled cries filling the air.

It was then that Sophia suddenly named to Caleb and asked, “Do you see that shattered
Caleb was momentarily stunned. He then lifted his gaze and noticed the glass shards scattered on the ground.
Sophia continued, “You see, when glass shatters, it can never be pieced back together. It’s the same with feelings and trust between people. I won’t sugarcoat it you betrayed me, and I’ll never be able to trust you again. It’s impossible to be friends if there’s no trust between two people, let alone be partners for life.”
had spoken with utmost sincerity. She didn’t really hold it against Caleb. Having known him for so long, she understood that he had been sheltered his whole lite, raised in luxury where everything came easily. He had never faced true hardship, which made him naive and, at times, unintentionally cruel. That was probably why be had recldessly trampled on her sincerity without even realizing it.
Though she didn’t hold it against him for it, that didn’t mean she was willing to rekindle their relationship. It didn’t matter if Caleb finally came to realize his true feelings for her, as there was a possibility that he would repeat the same mistakes once the passion faded. She had seen what Caleb was capable of during his lowest point. She would never make the mistake of returning to his side again
Upon hearing that, Caleb’s face immediately paled.
Sophia, having exhausted her discourse, turned and walked away.

It was of no concem to him since he had plenty of time. He was determined to regain Sophia’s affection, regardless of whether it required a month, a year, or even a
decade
In the subsequent period, Caleb made frequent journeys to Mavrosia whenever he could. Though the weekend consisted of only two days, and the round trip involved over 20 hours of air travel, he remained undeterred.
He kept seeking our Sophia, but never with the intention of causing her any inconvenience. anonymously, and follow her silently with an umbrella in hand during the rain. Still, no matter what he did, her attitude was as indifferent as ever
He would dr

It was on this particular day that Caleb showed up at Sophia’s university again, this time with her favorite snacks and toys, which he’d brought all the way from Chavaria
