He blinked, not believing what he was
hearing. “I let Wendy blind me with her
weakness, and saw myself as a hero. I missed
you the most, while I was in jail. I was wrong
to hurt you and our baby, I shouldn’t have
looked for thrills with Wendy.”
“Will you come visit me?”
My face was cold, and there was no emotion
in my eyes. “Mark, you let down yourself. The
man who promised to give me a happy family
is gone.”
“If you hadn’t been punished, you wouldn’t
have thought you were wrong.”
I turned to leave the dark, humid prison. I
looked up to the sun, and smiled.
My wonderful new life was just beginning.
