Chapter 56
50, it was for Liam, Eloise realized she might have been overthinking it.
“Could you get me a cup of tea? Mavis asked, holding her cup with an eager expression.
“Cf course.
Eloise noticed that Mavis‘ under–eye circles seemed a bit serious, so she asked if her sleep quality was poor.
“Yeah. I always have trouble falling asleep. Any little noise wakes me up, and I can’t fall back asleep after that.” Mavis rubbed her forehead. “When I was younger, my sleep schedule was all over the place for filming, and I’ve never been able to adjust after that “
Eloise poured her a cap of rejuvenating tea. “I added some herbs to the tea. Try it.”
Mavis took a sip and was surprised that it tasted good, although it had a herbal taste.
“It tastes great. Can you send me some tea bags later?”
“Sure.”
Mavis waved to others. “Come on over, everyone. This tea is really good!”
No one dared to refuse Mavis request, so they all gathered around.
As Eloise was about to pour tea for them, Mavis pulled her back “Let them pour it themselves. You’re not a waitress.”
At that moment, Stanley came out of the studio, and Mavis called him over. He then jogged over
“Ms. Sullivan, please give him a cup of tea to clear the heat and calm his nerves.”
Eloise hurriedly poured a cup and handed it to Stanley. He took a sip and thought it was good, so he asked his assistant to bring him a large mug
“Ms. Sullivan, sorry to trouble you. Our group is not progressing well, and everyone’s tempers are getting short. We need something to calm down. I heard you
were making tea for everyone in Group C, so I thought I’d ask you to make some tea for Group A today. I guess it’s a bit of a desperate move,
“Desperate move? She’s a professional doctor from a reputable hospital” Mavis scoffed.
“Right. I shouldn’t have said that. Anyway, thanks again, Ms. Sullivan.”
Eloise waved it off, saying it wasn’t trouble at all, as she was just helping to pave the way for Quincey.
“You know it’s trouble, so make sure you manage your team properly and don’t make things worse or insult people.‘
“Who insulted anyone?” Stanley widened his eyes.
“Find out for yourself. Don’t make it seem like we’re the ones spreading rumors.
Stanley clasped his hands together in apology. “Whoever it was, I’ll definitely have a word with them.”
Eloise didn’t say anything since Mavis had already spoken for her.
“But I see you two are quite familiar. Do you know each other?” Stanley asked.
Mavis put her arm around Eloise. “Of course, we know each other. Ms. Sullivan here is my fan!
“I’ve watched every one of Mavis‘ dramas at least three times,” Eloise quicldy said.
“Really? Mavis looked delighted. “I’m so honored.”
“Your dramas are all classics.”
“Look at how well you’re speaking.”
Mavis looked overjoyed. “Do you want an autographed photo of me?
“Ah, of course.
“Okay. You can come to my house another day.
ay, and I’ll give you
I give you some
Dine extra,
“Good! That sounds great.”
So great!”
What was so great about it?
Eloise was puzzled by Mavis‘ over–the–top excitement and enthusiasm.
It was time for the next scene to start, and it was Mavis‘ tum to act. As she and Stanley walked back to the studio, she couldn’t help but glance back at Eloise, growing fonder of her.
Stanley found it odd. “You’re rarely this warm with anyone. Who exactly is Ms. Sullivan?”
Mavis proudly said to Stanley, “She’s going to be my future daughter–in–law!”
