Chapter 40
“What do you mean?” Eloise’s face grew serious.
Liam purposely paused, then smiled. “Be prepared to drink to your heart’s content.”
This guy!
Eloise silently gritted her teeth. It seemed like he really enjoyed teasing her.
“Mr. Robinson, I’ll toast to you as well.” Sophia stood up to toast Llam
Liam waved his hand to signal her to sit down. “We’re all friends here, so no need for such formality, pust call me Liam.”
Sophia’s smile widened as she heard that. She was about to drink the glass, but Jacob stopped her and drank it for her instead. “You’re pregnant. You can’t drink,”
Sophia then apologized to Liam, saying, “Liam, sorry. It’s inconvenient for me to drink now.”
“Then, why did you arrange this drinking session? it’s meaningless to let others drink for us.” Liam’s smile faded a bit.
Maureen quickly spoke up in Sophia’s defense, “We were just talking about your new project at Aurora Films and TV, right? Sophia really likes one of the roles in it, which is the third female supporting role.
“Honestly, with her current popularity, taking that third–tier supporting role is a bit beneath her, but she really likes it. So, could you give a word to the director for the sake of our friendship?
Liam understood right away. “so, that’s what this is about.”
“It’s really just a small thing for you.”
“Indeed, it’s a small thing.”
“So, what do you think?”
“Isn’t the director openly casting? If you want to act, just go audition.”
Maureen was momentarily speechless but unwilling to give up. “With Sophia’s status, it’s fine if she beats those newcomers for a role. But if she doesn’t, the haters will have something to say.”
“Maybe if she can’t win, she should think about whether her acting skills are the problem”
That was a slap in Sophia’s face, and she couldn’t keep up her smile.
“oh, by the way, Ms. Sullivan, is your friend an actress as well? Liam asked Eloise.
Eloise nodded slightly. “She… She also wants to join your project.”
As soon as those words left her mouth, Maureen burst out laughing. “She doesn’t know her limits, does she? Even Sophia needs to audition to join the team. You can see how strong the crew is. A complete amateur like her actually wants to join…”
After hearing that Sophia was rejected, Eloise felt a bit unrealistic.
She looked at Quincey, who was now drunk and dazed. Forget speaking up for herself; just staying upright without collapsing was already a challenge.
“Uh, can my friend audition?” she asked.
“Auditions have their requirements. Not just anyone can
“I’ll give the director a heads–up. Save my number, and I’ll let you know once the time is set, Liam said, directly ignoring Maureen.
Maureen and Sophia both looked utterly incredulous when they heard what he said.
For him to say he’d give the director a heads–up was almost equivalent to agreeing to let Quincey join the team because no director would dare to refuse him. They had been begging for this for so long, and now, Eloise easily helped Quincey get it with just one sentence.
Eloise besitated for a moment but still saved Liam’s number.
“Ms. Sullivan, eat a few bites, and we’ll drink some more.”

By the time the session ended, Eloise was already drunk, but she still helped Quincey out. Benjamin was waiting outside, and seeing this, he quickly got
car to assist them inside.
After closing the car door, he ran over to Liam
“Did you get Ms. Sullivan drunk?”
“ch.” Liam smiled deeply.
“You’re in for it when Mr. Huntington finds out.”
Liam looked at the cat window and clicked hustongue. “My aunt really attracts attention.”
