Chapter 34
“You wouldn’t bother with that.” Quinney took a bite of the pasta. “What’s your fiance like?
Eloise answered, “Uh, I’m not sure. He seems fine.”
“What do you mean?”
“We haven’t inel yet.
Quincey gave her a thumbs–up. “You haven’t even gotten your marriage certificate yet, and he’s already given you a residence. At least he’s reliable.”
“Lieel burdened.”
“Don’t be silly. Do you know how much 1 got from Anthony when I divorced him?”
“Alot?”
“Three billion dollars.” Quincey held up three fingers. “In debt.”
Llaise frowned. “How could that happen?”
“I was an idiot who got tricked by him. Quincey took a deep breath “So, you should cherish a mari like your fiancé. At least he’s not going to screw you over
“What are you going to do?”
“I’ll fight my way back into the entertainment industry and start over.”
Eloise was stunned momentarily, then remembered that Quincey was a theater major like Sophia and had acted in a few TV shows before marrying Anthony, But she had always played supporting roles with no real popularity.
“I still have some money.”
“Then, help me rent a place first.” Quincey stuck her tongue out.
That evening, Quincey insisted on dragging Eloise to Jack’s bar.
“I don’t have any resources or connections. I can’t make it on my own. I need to join an agency.
“ch.” Eloise didn’t know much about this
“But I’m not that young anymore. They’ll definitely reject me if I go straight to them.”
“Jack said the boss of Tumer Entertainment is drinking here tonight. He’ll introduce me.”
When they arrived at the bar, they immediately saw Jacob and Sophia. They weren’t in a private room but sitting outside in the courtyard.
“Hey, Eloise, how did you know we’d be here? Come sit!” Sophia waved to Eloise.
This was weird–was she supposed to be looking for them? She thought it was bad luck running into them.
She wasn’t planning to bother with them, but Quincey pulled her over. “Old mate, don’t you recognize me?”
sophia didn’t recognize Quincey, but after a few looks, she finally did. “Ah, Quincey, it’s youl You’ve changed so much. Did you get plastic surgery?”
Quincey smiled. “Why do I need surgery? I’m unlike you with your flat nose.
Sophia’s smile faltered. “Why are you back in Kingsbury? Are you planning to act again?”
“I’m thinking about that.”
Sophia laughed “Quincey, you’re always jolding”
The two exchanged barbed remarks, and Eloise’s head started to hurt. She wanted to leave but was dragged by Quincey to sit down.
“Theard you two are getting married soon. Having a backup guy is so different. You can just decide to get married whenever. Congratulations! After all this time, you finally get to marry your goldenbachelor
“And congratulations to Jacob for marrying your lover and also getting a free child.”
Eloise tried to hold it in but couldn’t. A cruce escaped her lips.
Jarob glared at herand turned to Sophila. “There are too many people around here. Let’s go to the private room.
Sophia’s expression soured from Quincey’s jab, but just then, their filend antved.
“Sophia, Jacob, look who I brouglal”
Eloise turned around and saw Maureen Lynn, Sophia’s friend, wallding in with a man in white casual wear, the was tall, handsoine, and mixed–race. When he saw
her, he smiled at her.
Eloise froze. She didn’t recognize him.
