Chapter 97 Confrontation
I couldn’t help but feel utterly repulsed by Jeremiah’s self–righteous tone I glanced at Levi, who was still dealing with the clothing manufacturer, and promptly ended the call.
It seemed like the subtle change in my expression didn’t go unnoticed by Levi
After the meeting with the clothing manufacturer, Levi made me a cup of tea and asked with concern, “Is everything alright, Jane? You don’t look so great.”
His face suddenly tell, and he asked tentatively, “Is it Jeremiah?”
I nodded with a wry smile and replied, “Yep, It’s him.”
Levi’s anger immediately flared as he snapped, “Why won’t that bastard leave you alone? Should I just give him a beating for you?”
I smiled and waved him off, but a sense of warmth filled my heart. In my past life, I was so wrapped up in Jeremiah that I ignored not only my career but also the friends who had weathered the storm with me. In the end, I never got to see them before I passed away in my past life
I couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions after hearing my dear friend’s concern at the moment
“I’ve timed it right, Jeremiah should be waiting right in front of my doorstep at the moment.”
I had deliberately hung up the phone earlier. In any case, Jeremiah was going to come look for me one way or another, so it didn’t matter who went to whom.

Upon seeing Levi, Jeremiah’s expression hardened. He then contemptuously scrutinized me from head to toe before saying, “You really know how to enjoy yourself now, huh? It seems like Eric wasn’t enough, so now, you’ve brought in another boy toy. It seems like I tailed to meet your needs before, leaving you longing for men now.”
Before I could even say anything, Levi interjected, his voice laced with sarcasm. “I knew I smelled something rotten when we got here It turned out that it was coming from this person’s mouth.”
Levi then pinched his nose shut and scrunched up his face, acting as if he had just walked into a garbage dump.
Upon hearing that, Jeremiah instinctively shut his mouth.
After realizing that Levi was mocking him, Jeremiah sneered and said, “You honestly think she’s into you, huh? You’re nothing more than a tool to get under my skin! I’m warning you, we aren’t divorced yet, so watch your back or I’ll ruin your life!”
I stopped Levi, who was about to step in on my behalf, and smiled faintly. I said to Jeremiah, “Go on. I’m listening”
Upon sering that I wasn’t fighting back, Jeremiah took it as a sign that he was right. He haughtily puffed up his chest and looked down at me with a smug expression, saying, “You’d better apologize to Elsa now. If you do, I might consider forgiving you for your insolence You know what happens if you don’t.”
“What did Elsa say to you this time?” I asked as I gazed at him with a condescending smile, seeing him as nothing more than a fool.
“You have the nerve to ask me what I’m talking about?” Jeremiah sneered as he took a step forward. “You know exactly what you did. You’re well aware that Elsa’s very sensitive, yet you still went and insulted her in front of everyone by saying that her dress is a lake How do you expect Elsa to recover from that?
“Elsa looks up to you like her real sister, Jane! Is this how you’re going to treat her? You’d better go apologize to Elsa right now!”
I glanced at him with a cold expression as he went on and on. “If her dress was real to begin with, she wouldn’t have to worry about sucha Hlaing, right? If she’s that concerned, then maybe she shouldn’t have worn a take in the first place
“I bet she knew what she was doing–wearing Lakes and then running to you to complain about me. You’re so gullible, Jeremiah!” Jeremiah’s expression immediately hardened, and before I knew it, his arm was raised high
