Chapter 121 Like a Little Warrior
Grace Schneider stood in front of Sofia Schneider, glaring at Benson Schneider.
Since the last incident, she hadn’t been home in a long time and had avoided answering any calls from her family to avoid their unreasonable accusations.
She wouldn’t have come this time either if she hadn’t seen on Instagram how serious. Kassidy Schneider’s condition was.
Despite disliking how they treated Sofia, Grace did care for Kassidy and was very worried about her.
But upon arriving and seeing her grandfather slap Sefia, all her concern vanished.
She felt a deep sense of shock and incomprehension toward her family.
How could they be so biased, favoring one daughter of the Schneider family so blatantly over another?
“Grace! Get out of my way!” Benson, already displeased with Grace, was now furious that, she was defending Sofia.
“Grandpa, as long as I’m here, I won’t let you bully Sofia. Kassidy is in this situation. because of her own actions. You can’t blame Sofia for it!” Grace declared.
Standing behind Grace, Sofia felt a mix of emotions.
It was strange to have someone stand up for her like this.
Since the last incident, she had felt a growing sense of gratitude toward Grace.
Sofia’s feelings were complex, wondering how Grace would react if she knew that these events were, in some ways, connected to Sofia herself.
Moreover, what she planned to do next would likely hurt Grace deeply.
Sofia sighed silently in her heart.
Benson, seething with anger, raised his hand to strike Grace.

But seeing her stand firm, chin raised defiantly shocked him into hesitating.

He couldn’t bring himself to hit Grace, one of his most beloved granddaughters aside from Kassidy.
But now, how could she dare to defy him like this!
“Did you put your sister up to this, Sofia? Making her defy me! Sofia Schneider, you’ll pay for this!”
Benson’s gaze turned to Sofia. If Grace hadn’t been there, his slap would have landed on Sofia.
Sofia, now calm and indifferent, found Benson’s accusations ridiculous.
She no longer cared to argue with him, simply looking at him as if he were a madman, his words meaningless to her..
Grace, on the verge of tears, couldn’t stand to see Benson any longer.
She grabbed Sofia’s wrist, saying, “Sofia, let’s go.”
Sofia let Grace pull her away, and they left the hospital together.
Sofia found herself staring at Grace’s hand holding her wrist, feeling a sense of déjà vu.
As if this scene had happened a long, long time ago
It reminded her of long ago when Grace, as a child, would cling to her, always wanting to play together despite being kept away by their family.
Once, during a family confrontation, Grace had pulled Sofia away just like this.
Sofia smiled at the memory, realizing there had always been someone in the Schneider family who cared for her.
Grace turned to Sofia, noticing her smile, and asked, “Sister, what’s so funny?”
“I’m laughing at how you’re like a little warrior, protecting me,” Sofia replied, deeply touched.
Sofia had always dealt with things on her own, never expecting or needing her family’s affection.

She never thought she could be moved by family ties, but now, in this moment, she felt at surprising sense of warmth.
“Thank you, Grace,” Sofia said sincerely.
Grace suddenly started crying, covering her mouth to muffle her sobs but unable to control her emotions.
She sounded like a wounded animal, whimpering softly.
Sofia, feeling helpless, said, “Grace, don’t cry.”
Sofia wasn’t good at comforting girls, and Grace wasn’t like Sylvia Grant, who could be appeased with money.
Dealing with Grace made Sofia feel completely out of her depth.
Grace said through her tears, “Sofia, it breaks my heart to see you treated so badly. You’re so good, why do they treat you this way? It hurts me so much.”
Sofia smiled faintly, “Grace, your words mean a lot to me. Thank you.”
Grace finally calmed down and asked, “Sofia, does your face hurt? It’s really swollen.”
Grace’s eyes were fixed on Sofia’s face, where her right cheek was noticeably swollen.
Sofia touched her cheek, her expression darkening.
She didn’t actually feel the pain, perhaps due to a high pain threshold or sheer numbness from enduring so much before.
This slap didn’t hurt her at all.
However, Grace mentioning the swelling made Sofia frown, not because of vanity but because she worried Nathaniel Hart might see it and be concerned.
Sofia decided, “Let’s go get some ice water. I need to ice this.”
A simple treatment would have to currice for now.
Sofia planned to return later, apply some medicine, and then see Nathaniel.
