The gentle sunshine peaks into the room where the kids are in their Dreamlands. The curtains dance with the wind and the scent of flowers from the garden fills the room.

Their soft snoring and adorable pouts- Everything just makes peaceful and warm.

But within a minute Scarlet eyebrows knit. A gentle groan escapes her baby pink lips in her sleep when she feels something heavy on her belly. She tries to open her eyes but fails because of her heavy sleep until a slap on her face makes her jolted awake.

“Wake up! Scarlet! We are yet to complete our first mission! It’s morning already!” Bryan shakes her body constantly, sitting atop her.

I’m sleepy!” Scarlet groans, pushing Bryan. But in front of Bryan’s strength, she can do nothing.

“No. Y–You said that – That we must finish all of our preparation be–before we leave for the party. You – You can’t sleep now!” With an angry pout, he keeps pulling her up, trying to make her sit.

Scarlet knows Bryan can be so stubborn that sometime her mother even gives up on trying to win against Bryan.

With a deep breath, she sits up, ” The rest of the things, I will finish right now. But you have to take some responsibility in the meantime!” She gives him a side eye before grabbing her notebook.”

“What is it?” His eyes spark.

Go and write the whole tenth page of the Evaluation of Wolf and Fae. If you can, I will complete the entire task!” She grins playfully. A yawn follows her grin soon.

Bryan is stubborn but Scarlet knows how to make the best out of everything. She has given Bryan the most easiest task, collecting information about fathers and how they act like. Of course, As kids, the results are so Kid–a–like. However, both of them are satisfied with their own discovery of the definition of bad father.

It’s so hard to write. I don’t like to write!” he pouts since he is yet to write properly.

Scarlet can write and read at this age. But Bryan is just uninterested in books and study. As long as he can join his uncles for training, he is happy. Sometimes he expresses his feelings to become a cop or detective so that he can fight.

Before they could finish their conversation, the door of their room opens with a subtle sound. Both of them frown but aware that sometimes the servants come here to clean the room or whatsoever.

However, their eyes widen when they notice Benedetta walks in with two set of clothes for them. It’s too early for their mother to wake up.

“Oh! You two are already up! Good Job! I was going to wake you up!” Benedetta approaches them and plants two soft kiss on their forehead.

A gentle smile embraces Benedetta’s sleepy face as she walks towards their table.

“Yes, Mama!” The kids reply briefly while their eyes are following their mother time to time.

Good! Anyway –!” Benedetta pauses momentarily and looks at the notepad that is still on. She grabs it and scrolls up.

The kids are already discussing something with each other, so their attention isn’t on their mother who hasn’t said anything

yet.

However, soon a laughter makes the kids give their full attention to their mother.

Benedetta glances at her kids with a smug look on her face and starts reading something,” Father means who scolds kids, smokes smelly cigarette and drinks water and becomes sleepy after drinking so much water. Father means having a big belly and working on broken cars. Father means driving the car and doing nothing!– Did you two write this about your father? Babies!” She laughs once again and scrolls up. But this time, she just frowns, ” He beats Mother everyday and that’s why Mommy left the house. Mommy took the kids and the puppies so that they don’t get hurt!” As she finishes the line, a deep frown appears with concern…

What’s with this, kids?”

She asks since they are already in good relationships with Diego. He treats them well and loves them so much. They’re is no way they’ll think him as violent father or abusive father.

She sits on the edge of Bryan’s bed and looks at the kids who are already in panicking mood.

* Okay, Fine. I’m sorry that I touched your things without permission. But I don’t think this is something good you have written about your father! Also if I know – Diego doesn’t smoke or drink in front of you. How did you know that?” She asks.

The parental rules are strictly followed by every adult in this house. Except for wine and beer, they can’t drink anything. No smoke in front of the kids and no bad words- are fundamental rules that everyone follows.

So there is no way they’d know that Diego has the habit of getting drunk. On top of that, Diego doesn’t have any big belly. He has a well–knit figure. The Alpha of his pack isn’t a joke. Women gather around him like bees.

“Babies! What were you thinking when you two wrote this? Did Diego hurt you?” She asks since it’s concerning. They love Diego. There is no way they would write something like this.

“It’s not about Papa!” Bryan shouts, forgetting the very first rule of their plan… ” It’s about our bad Papa who hurt mommy and left us!”

The sound of notepad falling onto the floor and Scarlet gasping and clumping her mouth with her hand wakes Bryan up to the realization. Benedetta glances at the kids who are supposed not to know that Diego is not their real father.

She kept it hidden to them because she wanted them to grow up first to understand things. But she looks shocked and terrified.

“Mo–Mommy!” Scarlet swallows hard as she grabs the notepad.

“How did you know that you have another father?” She asks in a shaky tone, her entire body trembling.

The kids look at each other with a confused expression on their face.

Mommy told us that he isn’t our father!”

“Wh–What? I said? When? I never –!”

In the café, you said He isn’t my kids‘ father but they love him so much. I hope he becomes a good father to them!“” Scarlet mimicks her tone exact way she remembers.

” I said?” Benedetta purses her lips, “I don’t remember when I said that. Why would I say something like –?”

Because of our blood type!”

Benedetta looks at her kids with more troubled expression. She can’t remember anything what she is talking about.

Seeing their mother’s conflicted expression, Scarlet sighs. ” Your Gynaecologist met you at the café after we got discharged from the hospital. She asked why our Blood Type is AB(+)ve when you are A (+)ve and Dad has O(+)ve blood. You said we aren’t his kids!”

The widely opened eyes are now shaking with disbelief and shock. She glances at her kids as if she is looking at something different. She covers her mouth and hangs her head down to think properly.

How old the kids were when she told that to her doctor? Probably 3 or 3 years and four to six months. She doesn’t have any idea how strong their memories are.

“I’m sorry. I’m a disappointing mother, aren’t I?” She sighs forlornly. ” I should have been truthful. I’m sorry!”

It’s okay, Mommy!” Scarlet and Bryan hug her and pats her back.

“You are the best Mommy.”

Benedetta nods, sobbing silently. She doesn’t want them to know about their father. She can’t send her kids to someone who wanted to kill her so badly. Specially when Jasmine would be their Stepmom..A vicious woman who would hurt them without any second thoughts.

But Mommy! Who is our father? Can we meet –?”

“No!” Benedetta immediately shuns Bryan who is consoling his mother. ” Remember If Diego learns that you want to find another person because Diego isn’t your biological father, he would be hurt. Do you want to hurt Diego for a stranger?”

Benedetta knows she is trying to guilt trip and gaslight them. But she has no other choices. Up till the day of Jasmine’s return, she solely believed that Spencer would be a perfect father. He would be the best one but the moment she has realized that to marry his favorite woman, he can kill his Luna and Mate, he would do anything to prevent his favorite woman’s kids becoming the second choices of the legacy and in the very future. She would rather keep it hidden and let her kids be with her forever.

“We understood! Mama!” Surprisingly Both kids accepted her words pretty finely.

She smiles proudly, thinking about the kids being so understanding at such age.

But she has no idea that they’ve never been wanting to be with their real father. They just want to meet the person who hurt her.

Otherwise, there is no way their mother would stop them from meeting their own father.

“How could I be so blessed with such understanding kids? I love you so much, Kids. Let’s get ready for our three days adventure. Your Mommy will fulfill your all wishes!” She kisses both of their forehead and grins widely.
