Sylvia Grant shook her head and said, “I know you. Once you make up your mind, no one can change it.”
She walked over to Sofia Schneider, hugged her shoulder, and said, “Sofia, no matter what, I just want you to be happy.”

Sofia was touched. She patted Sylvia’s hand and said, “I will be, but for now, you need to let go so I can cook.”

With that, Sylvia left the kitchen.
Sofia quickly thought about what to cook for Nathaniel Hart.

So, Sofia decided on corn porridge.

Once the porridge was simmering, Sofia went to knock on Older Mr. Hart’s door to see if he was awake.

He had slept very well last night, finally relaxing after the tension of worrying about Nathaniel.

“I slept very well, Grandpa,” she replied.
“That’s good. You’ve worked so hard, Sofia,” Older Mr. Hart said.
Sofia smiled, “Grandpa, stop thanking me. Mr. Hart is awake. You should go see him.”
“Really?” Older Mr. Hart perked up and headed towards Nathaniel’s room.
He hadn’t dared to ask about Nathaniel’s condition, fearing bad news.
But
now that Nathaniel was awake, he finally felt relieved.
Entering the room and seeing Nathaniel lying on his stomach, suddenly, he hesitated to approach.
Sofia reassured him, “Grandpa, it’s okay. Mr. Hart is very strong. In a few days, he’ll be able to get out of bed.”
Hearing this, Older Mr. Hart was moved to tears.
He held Sofia’s hand and said, “Sofia, thank you so much. I really thank you.”
Sofia shook her head, “It’s Mr. Hart’s strong body and Dr. Braylon Green’s excellent surgery skills that made the operation successful. You don’t need to thank me so much, it makes me embarrassed.”
Nathaniel, hearing Sofia’s words, felt a bit of injustice for her.

Nathaniel wasn’t surprised by Older Mr. Hart’s high regard for Sofia anymore.
He was just grateful that Older Mr. Hart had brought Sofia into his life.

Hearing this, Older Mr. Hart felt relieved.
“Nathaniel, I’m really happy you and Sofia are together,” he said.
“Grandpa, I don’t know why you chose Sofia for me, but I’m really thankful you brought her to me,” Nathaniel said.
Older Mr. Hart understood. It seemed the two had already expressed their feelings to each other.

“Nathaniel, how are you feeling? Can you sense anything?” he asked.
Nathaniel nodded, “It’s very painful. Sofia said that once the pain subsides in a few days, I can try to stand.”
