I stared at him, rolling my luggage forward.
He stared back.
We spoke at the same time, “Liam?”
“Ava?”
What a coincidence. Here I was, back in my
old hometown, and my old dance teammate
was there too.
I gave up dance because of the injury, but he
had kept at it. After college, like Chloe, he
had studied abroad. I’d seen many of their
promotional posters.
Ben must know about him because of Chloe.
Liam said, when he came back he wanted to
create an unique indigenous dance.
く
And because this village had a heritage, he
came here for inspiration.
After a brief chat, Liam asked, hesitantly,
“Ava, have you… tried to dance again, at
all?”
I was quiet.
Liam continued, “I know this doctor who
specializes in rehab. If you want to dance
again, you should give it a go.”
“It may not be a sure thing, “Liam said. “And
it may be expensive, if you need it, I can…
lend you the money.
Liam’s face looked tense, as if he was afraid
of offending me.

“Forget it if you don’t want to.”
