“Sanya!” someone called out.
Sanya got up to open the door. The moment she cracked it open a petite figure launched herself straight into her arms and hugged her tightly.
Only one person in the world dared to act like this with Sanya, and it was Nina.
Sanya caught the little girl effortlessly and planted a quick kiss on her cheek before pulling her in for a hug. With a cheerful and affectionate smile, she said, “Nina! You are finally here!”
Nina said, “Sanya, I missed you so much! How long has it been since we last met?”
“It’s been a few months. How have you been?” asked Sanya.
Nina replied, “Very good!”
Sanya laughed and said, “With Mr. Snee around, life couldn’t possibly be bad. Come in! I’ve prepared a lot of finger food because I knew you were coming. Nina, I know you love meat, so almost all the food is meat.”
“Wow! Sanya, you’re the best!” Nina smiled happily.
Sanya asked, “Of course! Now tell me, who’s better? Me or Mr. Snee?”
“Both of you are great!” Nina replied with an awkward smile.
Just then, Charlie and Gabriel entered the room.
Charlie glanced around the place before fixing his gaze on Sanya and asking, “Sanya, this isn’t your house, is it?”
Sanya’s eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Charlie, her smile growing more enigmatic. Raising an eyebrow, she said slowly, “Well, well, Charlie! You’re as sharp as ever, aren’t you? Your keen instincts never miss a thing, do they?”
Then, she asked with a smile, “So, if you’re so clever, why don’t you guess whose house this is?”
Charlie wasted no time and answered flatly, “Logan Leith’s.”
“Tsk,” Sanya clicked her tongue with a smirk and said, “Seems like you’ve come prepared. Did Sam go to see you?”
“That’s right!” Nina jumped in before Charlie could reply. “Sanya, what’s going on? Sam said you’ve been hanging out with Anthony’s son again. Are you trying to stir up trouble?”
“Did Mr. Snee send you all here to question me?” Sanya countered with another question instead of answering.
“Yup!” Nina, who couldn’t keep a secret from her fellow war machines, nodded vigorously. “Sanya, what are you up to? You already took down one of Anthony’s sons, and now you’re after another?
“Charlie and the others said this is a sensitive time, and provoking Anthony might make things a lot more complicated.”
Raising a brow, Sanya said, “Who said I’m trying to kill his eldest son?”
“Then why are you pestering him? And why are you here at his house?” Charlie asked bluntly.
Sanya gave Charlie a sidelong glance and suddenly tilted her chin up, saying sharply, “Charlie, why are you talking to me like that? I’m not happy to hear that!

Nina, who was easily swayed by treats and affection, immediately took Sanya’s side. “Exactly! Charlie, why are you so harsh? Sanya knew we were coming and prepared all this delicious food for us. You should talk nicely to her.
“Shut up!” Charlie snapped at Nina as well.
Nina always cowered when faced with confrontation, so she instantly caved in and quickly distanced herself from the situation, saying to Sanya, “Sanya, I stood up for you, but Charlie’s in such a foul mood today. Just don’t take him seriously, okay?”
Sanya laughed coldly.
Noticing the tense atmosphere between Charlie and Sanya, Gabriel tried to defuse the situation. “Sanya, don’t blame Charlie for being harsh.
“You know why this is happening. We were sent back to our families because you killed Anthony’s son. He wanted to get back at us, and even Jackie…”
“Gabriel!” Charlie cut him off abruptly, his sharp gaze fixed on Sanya as he said, “You know how unstable things are now, don’t you? Eric, Sam, and Susan have been sent to the border. Sanya, can you stop making waves?”
Sanya pursed her lips slightly. Meeting Charlie’s eyes with a sardonic smile, she asked, “What waves have I made, Charlie? Go ahead, spell it out for me.”
Charlie retorted, “If you’re not stirring up trouble, then why are you messing around with Anthony’s eldest son?”
Sanya lowered her gaze slightly and replied, “I have my own plans.”
“What plans?” asked Charlie.
“Sanya!” Sensing the rising tension, Nina tugged on Sanya’s sleeve and murmured, “Sanya, just say it. Do we have secrets between us?”
Although Sanya felt a mix of emotions, seeing Nina trying to smooth things over, she decided to soften her stance.
She turned to Nina but addressed Charlie’s concern. “I understand how tense things are right now inside and outside the country, but do you really think ignoring Anthony means he’ll leave us alone? Instead of waiting for him to come after us, I’d rather take control of the situation.”
“What’s your plan, then?” Charlie pressed.
Sanya’s gaze lingered on Nina as she explained, “Anthony has already severed ties with Logan. Now that Chris is dead, Logan is all that he has. My plan is simple. Turn Logan against him. If I can bring Anthony down, that’s great. If not, at least I can undermine him and keep him off our backs.”
