A short while after they saw Sam off, Oliver came to bring the three mischievous kids home.
Before leaving, the three mischievous kids said goodbye to Nina “Goodbye, Nina!” they said. “If Sammy comes, be sure to
contact us!”
Nina also waved at them and said, “Got it. I’ll call you guys to let you know.”
“Sammy?” Oliver said, feeling surprised when he heard this new form of address. He then looked at Nina and asked, “Did another guest come to your place today?”
Not hiding anything, Nina answered straightforwardly, “Yeah. She’s also my good friend. Her name is Sam Twombley.”
“Sam, huh?”
Oliver was deep in thought. He was not a fool. Naturally, he noticed that Nina’s friends all had numbers on their names. He thought, ‘It’s obvious that they belong to a certain organization. The numbers are their codes.
This made Oliver think of what Jessica had suddenly called him to say the other day, as if she had lost her mind.
He thought for a moment and decided to remind Nina, saying, “Nina, be wary of Jessica for now.”
“Why should I be wary of Jessica?” Nina asked.
“Didn’t we go out for dinner that day? When I brought the little ones back, Jessica called me and said she finally knew the secret of your strength. She even asked me to wait and see, and that she would take back everything you took away from her.”
“She has gone crazy,
huh?”
Nina was surprised when she heard that. Then, she complained, “When did I take her things away?”
Oliver sighed and said helplessly, “You can’t interpret the words of someone who’s acting irrationally the same way you would interpret the words of a normal person, but she said she knows the secret of your strength. It feels like there’s some hidden truth. I’m not sure, but I think you should know.”
“Hmm…”
Nina thought for a moment and roughly understood.
She thought, “The secret of how we war machines were modified back then has probably been discovered by Jessica somewhere. But I’m really curious. Does Jessica want to be modified too?
‘I know full well how low the success rate is. After all, out of so many of us back then, only nine remain. But hasn’t Moonhuntland already stopped allowing war machines to be created? I can’t figure it out.
‘I’ll make time to report this situation to Clifford. After all, we’re going to see Sanya, and we need to inform Clifford anyway.
She then thanked Oliver politely, saying, “I know. Oliver, thank you for telling me this.”
Looking at Nina’s obedient appearance, Oliver blinked and chuckled as he said, “How come you are suddenly being so polite?”
Nina raised her eyebrows. “You don’t understand. This is called etiquette.”
She thought, ‘After all, Sam has already said my older fellow war machines would protect me, so I can just enjoy life. Since that’s the case, I naturally have to integrate into this society to enjoy life better.

Chapter 293
Oliver was left speechless.
Looking at Nina acting all sweet and well–behaved, Oliver knew that she was just putting on an act, but he still found her quite cute.
Thump. Thump.
Oliver’s heart raced again.
He knew that if the conversation continued, he would get emotionally caught up in it, so he quickly looked away and said, “Alright, I’ll take the kids back now.”
“Alright,” Nina said. “Be careful on the way back home. Text me when you get home.”
“You’ve mastered these speaking techniques, huh?”
“Of course. I’m a genius. If I want to learn it, I can master it quickly. Impressive, right?”
“Look at you! How come you have a burst of enthusiasm after being given a little praise?”
Nina giggled.
“Oliver, do you still want to leave?” the mischievous kids said. “If you’re not leaving, why don’t we stay at Nina’s place tonight?”
Getting impatient, they stuck their heads out of the car window and urged Oliver to hurry up.
“Alright.”
Oliver snapped out of his thoughts, pressed the children’s heads back into the car, and said to Nina, “We’re leaving now.” “Off you go,” Nina said, waving at the brothers of the Snee family. “Goodbye, Oliver. Goodbye, kiddos.”
“Bye, Nina!”
After saying goodbye to the brothers of the Snee family, Nina told Charlie and Gabriel what he had learned from Oliver.
Upon hearing this, a trace of ruthlessness flashed across Charlie’s eyes, and he said, “This woman just won’t stop. To prevent future trouble, kill her now.”
“Charlie, didn’t we say no killing?” Nina said. “Don’t do anything rash.”
Charlie had just been reminded by Sam to take good care of his younger fellow war machines. He said firmly, “That woman is going against you. If we don’t get rid of her now, are we going to wait for her to develop into a bigger threat?”
Nina, however, rarely showed a big–picture perspective. Speaking with exaggerated seriousness, she said, “Charlie, are you silly? Becoming war machines is not allowed in Moonhuntland. We can report it to Clifford first. Wouldn’t it be in line with the rules to go through the official process to deal with this matter?”
Gabriel agreed with her viewpoint, saying, “Charlie, I think Nina is right.”
Charlie also felt like he had gotten a bit too worked up, but that idiot woman, Jessica, always targeting Nina really annoyed him. However, he knew that going by the official process was right.
So, he compromised and said, “Alright, let’s talk to Clifford about this first. Then, we’ll bring up Sanya’s issues with him.”
“Alright,” Nina said as she nodded. Then, she called Clifford.

Unfortunately, Clifford, who was in a tough spot, was still in a meeting, discussing the matter of border war machines and the issues of regulating war machines.
The phone on the table began to vibrate. Clifford glanced at the phone and realized that it was Nina calling him.
“Mr. Snee?”
It was Clifford’s turn to talk. Noticing that his gaze was directed at his phone, the person beside him reminded him.
Not overthinking things, Clifford immediately said to everyone, You guys discuss it first. I’ll go out to take a call.”
With that said, he walked out of the conference room.
Everyone exchanged glances and thought in unison, ‘Mr. Snee, who never answers calls or leaves his seat during meetings, suddenly left the room. I’m absolutely sure that it must be Nina who called him again!
