Chapter 20
“Fabian, you have to wake up. As long as you wake up, I’ll swallow my pride and beg Angelina to come back to see you.”
“But if you remain in a coma, you’ll never have a chance to see Angelina again…”
Perhaps Mrs. Carnegie’s words had an effect. Fabian struggled and finally woke from his deep sleep, gripping Mrs. Carnegie’s hand tightly.
“Mom, I want to see Angelina!”
That sentence seemed to take all of Fabian’s remaining strength.
or to come
Bersa had tried to use the excuse that Angelina’s father was seriously ill to get her to
back, but it hadn’t worked.
Fabian had no idea what other methods he could use to find Angelina.
Mrs. Carnegie had once treated Angelina like her own daughter, and Angelina had always been
so soft–hearted.
Perhaps this time, Mrs. Carnegie could really get Angelina to soften and return.
Seeing the deep pain in Fabian’s eyes, Mrs. Carnegie hesitated for a moment, then agreed to call Angelina immediately.
However, when she dialed, the phone rang only twice before being hung up. Mrs. Carnegie had no choice but to keep dialing again and again.
Finally, after persistent effort, Angelina reluctantly picked up the call.
Mrs. Carnegie, fearing the call would be cut off, quickly spoke in a hoarse voice, full of pleading
“Angelina, Auntie really has no other choice. Please, don’t hang up the phone so quickly.”
Hearing the choked voice of Mrs. Carnegie, Angelina sighed inwardly, unable to bring herself to hang up immediately.
But after everything that had happened, it was hard for her to be warm and affectionate with Mrs. Carnegie anymore.
Angelina spoke in a distant tone, “Auntie, why are you calling me?”
Although Mrs. Carnegie hadn’t said anything yet, Angelina already had a vague idea.
Aside from Fabian, Mrs. Carnegie had no reason to call her.
As expected, the next moment, Angelina heard Mrs. Carnegie’s pleading voice.
“Angelina, since you left, Fabian has been looking for you. He did hurt you back then, but he knows he was wrong now…”
“Could you… could you give him another chance, or at least come back to see him?”
Listening to Mrs. Carnegie’s desperate plea, Angelina didn’t immediately agree, nor did she outright refuse.
It had been almost three months since she left Boston.
In that time, she had moved around to several places, finally settling in Paris.
Angelina really loved this romantic city.
From Daliana, she had learned that Fabian hadn’t given up on looking for her.
Because Fabian had been trying to gather information about her, Angelina had been too afraid to post anything about her location on social media.
This couldn’t go on forever.
Some things really needed to be said to Fabian face to face.
“I’ll be back in Boston in a week. I’ll contact you then.”
Angelina’s willingness to agree surprised not only Mrs. Carnegie but also Fabian.
Fabian, excited, tried to sit up in bed and reached out for the phone, but it was already hung up after Angelina said those words.
Once again, he had missed his chance, but this time Fabian wasn’t disappointed. Instead, he
smiled.
His voice was trembling with excitement, “Angelina said she’s willing to come back. I can’t see her in this condition. Mom, call Assistant Daniel and have him come over quickly.”
Seeing the spark of life returning to Fabian’s eyes, Mrs. Carnegie instantly switched from crying to smiling.
