Chapter 67 Don’t Be Angry Anymore
Joseph Carter accompanied Grace Schneider back to her dormitory.
Having never attended school in this country. Joseph was curious about the local education
system.
His eyes darted around, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. If it weren’t for the current situation, he would have loved to experience the local classroom firsthand.
Grace occasionally sneaked a glance at Joseph.
Despite his mature demeanor, his curiosity was evident.
As they walked along the main path to the dorms, Grace suddenly asked, “You’re not really a student here, are you?”
Joseph, returning his gaze to her, simply replied “Sofia asked me to come.”

He had no reason to hide the truth from Grace.
He had been sitting right across from her at the barbecue restaurant when she clung to Sofia Schneider.
“Really?” Grace’s face lit up with happiness.
She stopped and looked up at Joseph, her eyes sparkling.
“Sofia still cares about me,” she said, covering her mouth to stifle a laugh, unable to hide her joy.
Joseph wanted to tell her she was overthinking it, but he didn’t want to crush her spirit.
Instead, he said, “Sofia was worried you might get hurt, so she asked me to check on you.‘
Grace, after her initial joy, asked Joseph, “What’s your relationship with Sofia?”
“Just friends,” Joseph replied.
He certainly couldn’t tell Grace that he was Sofia’s student, her tenth one at that.

The lovely girl might get scared out of her wits,
“Then where did you get that uniform?” Grace’s curiosity was piqued.
At the barbecue place, despite looking the youngest he had ever been, Joseph still exuded an air of elite sophistication.
Now, wearing their old–fashioned school uniform, he still looked good.
Grace didn’t need to imagine how much of a campus heartthrob Joseph would be if he
truly a student at their school.
Wern
Joseph quickly fabricated an excuse, “I borrowed it from my younger brother who attends this school. Otherwise, I couldn’t have gotten in.”
He had gleaned from Grace’s earlier cosation with Kassidy Schneider that outsiders weren’t allowed into the school, so this was the only plausible excuse he could come up with.
Grace didn’t doubt him..
Her thoughts were still occupied with Sofia.
After staring at Joseph for a while, she couldn’t resist asking, “So, Sofia still likes me, right? Otherwise, she wouldn’t worry about me, would she?”
Joseph was at a loss for how to answer.
He didn’t want to burst her bubble.
After a moment of thought, he said, “It’s getting late. You should go get some rest and take care of your face.”
Grace pursed her lips, finally sensing that Joseph didn’t want to talk much.
She wisely decided not to push further and pointed to the building ahead, “That’s my dorm. I’ll go in now. You should head back too. Thanks.”
Joseph nodded, “Go ahead. I’ll wait until you’re inside before I leave.”
Grace was momentarily taken aback but didn’t say anything more.
She walked to her dorm, and only after she disappeared inside did Joseph turn to leave.

He took out his phone and messaged Sofia, “Soffa, your sister got into a fight, but she seems okay now. Don’t worry. I’ll keep watch outside the school. Rest assured.”
This time, Sofia responded, “No need. Go get some rest.”
Joseph could almost feel the coldness from his teacher through the screen.
He shivered and cautiously asked, “Sofia, are you mad? Do you blame me for letting your sister get hurt?”
“Sofia, let me explain. Your sister was already in the fight when I arrived. I didn’t make it in time.”
“I stopped it afterward. Please don’t be mad.”
Joseph sent several messages, but it was like they disappeared into a void.
Sofia didn’t reply.
It wasn’t that Sofia was angry and ignoring him.
She was busy administering medication to Nathaniel Hart and taking care of him, so she had no time to check her phone.
Nathaniel’s pain was more intense than before.
Despite his strong will, he was shaking uncontrollably from the pain.
His body was drenched in sweat, making him look like he had just been pulled out of a swimming pool.
Sofia continuously wiped his sweat, but her efforts seemed futile.
She was drenched herself and felt a deep sense of helplessness, her eyes reddening at the sight of Nathaniel’s suffering.
The only positive sign was that Nathaniel’s pain had reached his tailbone.
Because of this, his entire spine was in excruciating pain, making it incredibly hard for
him.
However, this also meant the most painful phase of his treatment was nearing its end.

Sofia gently wiped Nathaniel’s sweat and softly reassured him, “Hold on a bit longer. It’ll be over soon. You’ll get better.”
However, her words lacked confidence.
The process would take at least four more hours.
During this time, the pain would be constant and relentless, likely intensified by the medication and Nathaniel’s body’s reaction.
Sofia worried about his limits, fearing he might not endure it.
After an unknown amount of time, Nathaniel’s breathing gradually calmed, though it remained heavy, and he continued to sweat profusely.
Sofia wiped his face and neck, asking softly, “Mr. Hart, are you alright?”
Nathaniel slowly opened his eyes and looked at Sofia, his voice hoarse, “I’m okay.”
He was still in pain, but it had become a numb, familiar sensation.
Sofia said, “Mr. Hart, you’re doing great. You’re my best partner. If we work together, we’ll get through this.”
