“I can’t walk away at this crucial. I have faith in Bobby, and that is why I can rest here with ease,” Evelyn remarked.
“Don’t try to convince me of this. I have made up my mind.” Evelyn exuded confidence.

Meanwhile, Caleb was in front of the City Hall. As soon as he got in the car, Colin spoke, “Boss, those reporters in front of Evelyn Jewelry haven’t left yet. Even though they currently have no plans to link that issue to our company, I think it is better to communicate with Ms. Brin in advance.”
Caleb glanced at Colin, who then shut up.
Caleb and Evelyn seemed to get along well in the hospital, but now they had signed a divorce agreement, which took Colin by surprise.
“Boss, other directors are still waiting in the office, but Mrs. Mercer wanted you to go home. Where are we going now?” Colin said nervously.
Jasmine surely learned about it now that things had come to this point.
But when Jasmine called Caleb, he told her not to intervene
“Go to the office.” Caleb didn’t hesitate.
There had been constant upheaval at the company during his hospital stay.
Because of Evelyn, these directors seized the opportunity to cause trouble on the very day he was discharged from the hospital today.
As soon as Caleb entered the meeting room, all of the directors looked at him.

Everyone in the conference room appeared combative, as though they were committed to getting something done today. Dropping the papers he was holding haphazardly, Caleb sat down in the middle of the conference room and looked around at the few but significant people gathered.
“You folks urgently demanded an interim board meeting. Is there anything significant that needs to be announced?” With a casual tone, Caleb seemed unaffected by the impending attacks
The directors looked at each other in embarrassment. They all knew what to do today.
With a serious look, Logan Everhart, a board member, turned his chair and leaned to Caleb, saying, “Caleb, here is the thing What I am about to say has nothing to do with disrespecting you or your parents. After all, we co–found Mercer Group together.
“Since you took over the company, you wouldn’t let us do the previous business, and we respect you enough to support your work. We all lost our most lucrative business because of it. And do not forget the bid you’ve lost before, which cost us nearly six months‘ worth of labor and resources.
“The previous incident of jumping off a building is allegedly over, but some people are still talking about it, which will significantly affect our company. And the various rumors that surfaced this morning regarding your marriage also affect our company.
“It is difficult for us to support so many people, even though our company’s operations are going well.”
Logan had essentially covered all the necessary ground.
