It was simple, clear, but loaded with emotions she could never fully reciprocate.

When she pushed the door open, a gust of cold air with sea wind blew into her nose. Evelyn shrank her shoulders subconsciously.
The cold air couldn’t stop her nostalgia for the beauty outside.
Zoey made a lantern show on the small bridge at the gate of the villa with the light bulbs connected.
Standing on the bridge, they could see the boundless sea, which was frightening but fascinating. And then there was the sight that made Evelyn burst into laughter.

Not far from them, some fireworks had been prepared by Zoey. There were also several men in suits standing aside.
Unfazed by Evelyn’s comment, Zoey heard her approach and, bubbling with excitement, bounced over to join her.
Zoey crossed her arms over her chest, putting on a serious face for a mock inspection. “Honestly, I also feel it’s a bit old- school, but…”
Zoey drew out the end of her sentence teasingly before breaking into a grin. “But I really had no other choice. My brother sent me these guys who are as clueless as it gets. I asked them to come up with something quick that would dazzle you without going off–theme, and they thought this was solid.”
Letting her arms fall, Zoey made a heart shape with her hands and aimed it at Evelyn. “I wasn’t keen on it at first either, but sincerity’s what counts, right, Evelyn? Can you feel my heart pounding?”
Zoey dramatized every word, her hands mimicking a heart thumping wildly.
Evelyn felt a laugh bubbling up. “With that silver tongue of yours, I doubt anyone could outtalk you. But you’re about to be unveiled as the ambassador for Evelyn Jewelry, and this setup here is making me feel like I’m taking center stage instead.”
“Evelyn, you’re missing the point, Zoey chimed in with a playful glint in her eye. ‘In ‘Evelyn Jewelry, there’s a character for ‘you‘ and one for ‘precious as jewelry. Now, I’m the new ambassador of Evelyn Jewelry. If you put the two words together, it means you’re the most precious person to me.”
Listening to Zoey’s heartfelt yet slightly awkward speech, they seemed to have forgotten the cold at the beachfront. Even in spring, the night sea breeze could be biting.

Bring closely associated with Evelyn Jewelry as a shareholder himself, he could have easily said the same words Zoey did. However, he feared that after today’s surprise, Evelyn would be on guard.
