Chapter 222
Upon hearing a voice, she turned to look at Caleb and caught sight of Aron.
“Leave me alone. You can go home today” Caleb said again.
Upon hearing the sound. Evelyn’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively glanced at Aron. She felt certain that it must have been something Aron said to Caleb downstairs. Otherwise, how could Caleb have remained silent for the past few days, yet spoken up as soon as Aron arrived today? But obviously, now was not the time to ask Aron.
Aron knew what was on Evelyn’s mind. He said in a gentle voice as usual, “Mr. Mercer said he was going to leave the hospital
I happened to come and pick you up. You have been here for a few days. You must have a bad rest in the hospital. Pack up your things and go with us.”
“Evelyn, where are your belongings? I’ll pack them for you? Zoey said as soon as she heard that Evelyn was leaving the hospital, instantly feeling energized. Originally, she wanted to come today to see Caleb and question him about why he wanted to keep Evelyn by his side. Now it seemed she could save a few words,
Evelyn’s gaze shifted from Aron to Caleb, feeling perplexed. Just before Aron arrived, she had clearly asked Caleb when he would be discharged from the hospital. Whatever Caleb said, his attitude clearly didn’t suggest he was leaving. But now, with Aron’s statement, Evelyn couldn’t help but become even more curious about what had transpired between them downstairs, to prompt Caleb to change his mind so quickly.
“Mrs. Mercer. Colin’s voice was so coincidental that it reached the cars of Evelyn and others, “It’s your book.”
Colin was holding several books in his hands.
The only thing Evelyn could do to kill time here was to read books. But it seemed that there were always a few books. Caleb asked Colin to bring some books to Evelyn today. Seeing the book in Colin’s hand, Evelyn was even more confused.
Colin obviously found that the atmosphere in the room was very strange, but now his feet were stepping on the floor of the ward, and it was too late to dig a tunnel on the spot.
After seeing the book, Evelyn looked at Caleb again and asked straightforwardly, “Didn’t you just say that you wouldn’t leave the hospital?”
Caleb didn’t answer Evelyn’s question. He took a look at Colin, who had already walked to him, and said, “I’ll sign the divorce agreement later and ask Colin to send it to you.”
Hearing this, Evelyn was even more confused. And she was more curious about the conversation between Aron and Caleb downstairs.
Colin was also greatly surprised! He was very curious about what had just happened in the ward. The interaction between Evelyn and Caleb these days, of course, couldn’t be described as harmonious, but they were getting along peacefully. And no one can say that Caleb was not interested in Evelyn now. In just a few hours‘ absence, he had undergone such a significant- change.
“Evelyn, since you don’t have much stuff, I’ll have Aron buy these books for you later. I’ve packed up the clothes for changing, let’s go.” Zoey seemed to muster some unknown strength and quickly packed up Evelyn’s belongings in the shortest time possible.
