Chapter 195
“Didn’t you say earlier that we should know how to give up something?” Bobby didn’t understand what Evelyn said, but he couldn’t help feeling that she was right because he trusted her
Evelyn nodded and said, “Yes. As I mentioned before, ‘Know thyself, know thy enemy, and you shall win a hundred battles. The reason I said that is simply to tell you that our company is now shining too brightly, and it’s normal for industry peers to investigate us. However, we have no intention of doing the same because it would be a waste of our resources.
The reason why our brand has a limited edition before is that we had several good materials in hand at the beginning, but now we have entered into this industry and entered the public’s view. When I received the phone call this morning, I clearly felt that Nolan meant something else.
“In the past, we were not noticed by others and we could get good materials. Now, different from the past, the secrets of this industry are limited. So I think in the following short period of time, without more raw materials in hand, then aren’t we going to lose the old customers accumulated in the past few years?
“Also, every single one of our limited edition designs, we’ve been meticulous, right? Picking out the materials while eyeballing the design drawings to get it just perfect. Now, when we’re supposed to be totally on point to boost sales, we mess up on this part. Aren’t we basically shooting ourselves in the foot?”
Hearing this, Bobby understood what Evelyn meant.
Although haute couture was time–consuming and labor–intensive, it could retain the customers of the limited editions in a short period.
Customers who liked limited edition items did so because they felt the products were of high quality and that there were only a few of them in the world. Given this mindset, such customers were even more predisposed to embracing haute
couture.
What was more, when they were stacked up against the big–name brands, their edge in the limited edition game was pretty thin. Those major labels had clout, deep pockets, and a fan base that was both larger and more loyal than theirs. Thinking it through, Bobby thought pivoting those limited editions into haute couture pieces seemed like a solid move right about now.
“Evelyn, I understand what you’re getting at,” Bobby replied with full confidence. However, he soon began to feel regretful when he thought about the orders he had agreed upon with Nolan.
Evelyn’s always unfazed eyes merely glanced at Bobby, as if piercing through the veils of his inner thoughts. Yet, her expression was more serious than at any time before, “Your judgment is still sound; I’ve had Nolan send over that batch of materials. Bobby, you need to understand, the better something is, the harder it is to come by. If a good thing were so easy to obtain, it would be even easier to lose than it was to acquire.”
Bobby knew what Evelyn meant. Although she agreed with his original intention of purchasing the raw materials, she reminded him at the same time that if something was rushed, it would destroy the result
In the time that followed, Evelyn and Bobby made a preliminary plan for the future development and positioning of the company in the office and also reviewed the personnel recruitment from the day before.
When it was almost lunchtime, Aron came to the company. Bobby left the office as soon as he saw him.
“Why do you come to the company again? Aren’t you going to the hospital?” Aron couldn’t help asking when he saw Evelyn.
As for this question, he could not only know what was on Evelyns mind but also know what was going on with Caleb in the hospital
